Casting Tidbits: Jessica Biel, Channing Tatum & Kevin Spacey

And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my Casting Tidbits! First up, THR reports Jessica Biel and Luke Evans are finalizing deals to star in Vivaldi, a period romance from director Patricia Riggen (Under the Same Moon). Written by Kevin Lund and T.J. Scott, the story focuses on a forbidden romance that develops between composer, priest and violin virtuoso Antonio Vivaldi and his protege, singer Anna Tessieri Giro, leading him to write his enduring masterpiece The Four Seasons. So I guess Biel's casting means Anna Tessieri Giro must be really attractive.

Next, two new additions to Ron Howard's comedy Cheaters have manifested themselves in two different brief interviews with the new cast members in question. First, MTV spoke to Channing Tatum who revealed he will be joining the cast, but would only reveal that he spends a lot of time on-screen with Vince Vaughn and no other character details. Maybe comedy will allow him to actually act in a movie this time around. Meanwhile, in an ESPN Sports Nation chat, Queen Latifah revealed that she will also be in the comedy, but once again, no details on her character either. Kevin James and Winona Ryder also star in this story about man (Vaughn) who learns that James' character's wife (Ryder) is cheating and must then navigate treacherous waters to decide what do with that knowledge.

Finally, Deadline reports that Kevin Spacey and Zachary Quinto are attached to a film called Margin Call, a corporate thriller about eight people at a prominent investment bank in a tumultuous 24-hour period during the early stages of the financial crisis as the characters struggle to position themselves ahead of the coming storm. Sounds like a topical flick with the potential to add even more great cast members. The film will mark the feature directorial debut of J.C. Chandor who also wrote the script and the package is currently being shopped around for distribution at the Cannes Film Festival.
