Rebecca Hall, Marisa Tomei, Jessica Chastain

Casting Tidbits. Shaken, not stirred. First up, Variety has news expanding the already impressive line-up of actors in Salvation Boulevard, as the trade announces that Jennifer Connelly, Greg Kinnear and Marisa Tomei will be joining the already cast Pierce Brosnan, Jim Gaffigan and Ed Harris in the George Ratliff directed comedic thriller (based on the book from Wag the Dog writer Larry Beinhart) which centers on a former Deadhead turned born-again Christian who finds himself on the run from some fundamentalist members of his mega-church who will do anything to protect their larger-than-life pastor. That's blasphemy!

Next, THR reports that up and coming actress Jessica Chastain has also joined The Fields as the female lead opposite Sam Worthington and Jeffrey Dean Morgan in the story based on a real-life series of unsolved murders in a stretch of bayous where as many as 70 bodies have turned up over the past 30 years. The actress will play Worthington's ex-wife, a former rodeo queen who likewise is a homicide detective and (like Worthington and Morgan's characters) also determined to the find the killers, with or without his help. If you don't know the beautiful Chastain yet, hopefully you will soon enough as she stars opposite Brad Pitt in Terrence Malick's The Tree of Life.

Finally, Variety reports Rebecca Hall (Vicky Cristina Barcelona, Frost/Nixon) will join the already cast Will Ferrell in the upcoming indie dramedy Everything Must Go, a story which centers on a relapsed alcoholic (Ferrell) who loses his job and his wife (Hall) and decides to live on his front lawn while selling all of his belongings. Yep, that sounds like an indie to me. This will mark the feature film directorial debut of commercial director Dan Rush, who also wrote the 2008 Black List featured script based on a short story by Raymond Carver. It'll be nice to see Ferrell take another crack at drama (though it will surely have comedy).

Well, that's all for this edition of Casting Tidbits. Be sure to stay tuned for more casting updates on the way!
