Jackson, Zeke Jackson. A few days ago it was revealed that Robert Downey Jr. would no longer be starring in Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci's adaptation of Cowboys & Aliens being directed by Jon Favreau. At the time, no one know who would replace him, but Collider is now reporting that they've heard it's Daniel Craig who may take the role instead. However, they stress that he is only "in negotiations" and not signed on yet, but will likely end up playing the lead role of Zeke Jackson as long as he can work this in around his James Bond 23 shooting schedule (which, as we know, is delayed a bit due to MGM's financial problems).
Zeke Jackson is the lead in Cowboys & Aliens, a Platinum Studios comic book series set in the mid-1800s. In Silver City, Arizona, Apache Indians and Western settlers must put their differences aside when a spaceship crash lands in their city. The aliens plan to quash the Wild West and enslave humanity, but the cowboys and Apache have other plans. Sounds like a great story to me and if this means we get to see Daniel Craig kicking some alien ass, then bring it on. Since I haven't read the comics I can't say he's a good fit, but I am excited to potentially see him join this project, especially because that means Jon Favreau gets to direct James Bond!
