Danny Trejo & Michelle Rodriguez

Later this week we'll finally get to see Danny Trejo kicking ass as the "first Latino superhero" along with the eye-patch wearing Michelle Rodriguez in Machete, but 24 Frames reports the two Hispanic stars are looking at teaming up again for an indie called Skinny Dip. The film is a revenge story involving a woman who kills a policeman with Gilbert Trejo (son of the actor) producing and likely co-directing with Frankie Latina (which sounds like a porn star's name). Hopefully these two young filmmakers will display some real talent behind the camera, or this will be quite the waste of an amazing father-son connection in the industry.

At 22 years-old, the younger Trejo has grown up on film sets with his father being in the acting game for 27 years. Apparently at the young age of 9 years-old, Gilbert met Robert DeNiro and immediately delivered his best "You talkin' to me?" impression for the actor. I wonder if he's had a chance to meet DeNiro since then. After all the iconic actor has a role in Machete, and Gilbert apparently appears on a low-rider in a climactic scene from the film. It's not clear if this film is going to be as campy or grindhouse inspired as Machete, but with the talent involved, it'll certainly be a great opportunity for Hispanic actors to showcase their talents.
