Disney Developing an Enchanted Tiki Room-Inspired Movie 'Tiki'

If you've ever been to Disneyland in California, you've probably been to the Enchanted Tiki Room (if not, book a trip now!), a Polynesian-themed interactive tiki room where you can get a delicious pineapple drink. Well, 24 Frames says Disney is in development on a project called Tiki that, while not an adaptation of the theme park attraction, is "merely an action-adventure that mixes in Polynesian mythology." So, in essence, inspired heavily by the Enchanted Tiki Room, as the writers' even admit. The screenplay is by Ahmet Zappa, son of the legendary Frank Zappa, and his writing partner Michael Wilson, but no director is attached yet.
For those that haven't been to the Enchanted Tiki Room, it's a Disney animatronic attraction featuring a Polynesian musical revue starring singing birds, flowers and tiki idols. Although it mainly comes from Walt Disney's imagination, it's a great place to inspire an action-adventure movie. I hate to make the comparison, but just look at Pirates of the Caribbean. Disney has been on a roll recently and this just sounds like another great idea that will result in an entertaining Disney movie. Who knows what the story is actually about, but we'll be following this and will let you know if we hear anything else. Sound like this has any potential?
