Early Cast Coming Together for Indie Horror Film 'The Home'
Last year we wrote about the announcement of a new indie horror project in the works called The Home, written by AICN's Eric Vespe, to be directed by Kristoffer Aaron Morgan. They've been working on putting together the production for a while and we've been waiting to hear news about it. Well, Bloody-Disgusting received a big casting scoop today for this film, which looks like it might have an impressive cast lined-up. Although not officially signed yet, they're in discussions with Brian Cox (Zodiac, Trick 'r Treat, Red, The Escapist) and Cloris Leachman (Young Frankenstein, You Again) to star, with a few others set as well.
In addition to those two, Louise Fletcher, Louis Gossett Jr., Edward Asner and Fionnula Flanagan have also all joined cast. As a reminder, here's a the plot: The Home unfolds after a young man is nearly killed during a horrible accident that leaves him physically and emotionally scarred. To recuperate, he goes to a secluded nursing home where the other elderly residents appear to be suffering from delusions. But after witnessing a violent attack, he soon realizes that the screams behind the walls are caused by more than hallucinations, and the residents are being preyed upon by twisted, monstrous nightmares that lurk within the home itself.
Voltage Pictures (The Hurt Locker, The Whistleblower) is producing and I hear that they may start shooting sometime by the end of this year. I'm happy that it's moving forward, I'm excited to see what they come up with. I'm sure we'll hear more about this again soon, so stay tuned for updates on The Home as they arrive.
