First Bloody Animated Warhammer 40K 'Ultramarines' Teaser
"In the grim darkness of the far future, there is only war..." Some of you may know that we've been writing about an upcoming animated movie based on Games Workshop's Warhammer 40,000 Space Marines called Ultramarines. After a couple of months of waiting, we now have a short first look at a very bloody teaser trailer (with actual footage) for the movie as found by Quiet Earth. Sadly, this is going to be going straight-to-DVD (not in theaters, as far as we know) but the good news is it features the voices of Terence Stamp and John Hurt (as heard in the trailer). This has the potential to be pretty awesome and I hope it delivers!

Codex Pictures is developing Ultramarines, with Martyn Pick directing from a screenplay by Space Marines author Dan Abnett. There hasn't been an actual plot synopsis released for the movie, so we don't know much about the story. But as a recap on the concept, Ultramarines is an animated feature based on the elite force of Space Marines from the Warhammer 40,000 tabletop miniatures universe. This faction is called the "Ultramarines", identified by their blue colored armor and omega symbol (Ω). Word is that it will arrive on DVD/Blu-Ray sometimes this fall, but there's no actual release date yet. Visit: ultramarinesthemovie.com.
