Megamind Teaser

DreamWorks Animation has debuted a short 45-second teaser trailer for their next new film Megamind, formerly known as Oobermind and Master Mind before that. Due out in November of this year, Megamind features the voice talents of Will Ferrell (as Megamind), Brad Pitt (as Metro Man), Tina Fey and Jonah Hill. Similar to Universal's Despicable Me, the focus is not on the hero this time, but on the villain, who is voiced by Ferrell and looks like a blue-skinned idiot. This looks really awful. I don't like the voices, the characters, or the trailer at all. But at least it's a bit better than the Despicable Me trailers, I guess. Check it out below.

A satirical take on superhero movies, in which a notorious villain loses his oomph after he accidentally kills his nemesis Metro Man. Megamind is being directed by DWA's own Tom McGrath, of both Madagascar and Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa previously. The script was co-written by first-time writers Alan J. Schoolcraft and Brent Simons. This will be DreamWorks Animation's third feature film this year following How to Train Your Dragon in March and Shrek Forever After in May. Paramount will be releasing Megamind in theaters everywhere starting on November 5th this year. Anyone planning on seeing it or just skipping it instead?

The animations don't look too bad. That's all I can say about this.
  • It's too soon to tell if this movie sucks. I'm not the biggest Will Ferrell fan but I've enjoyed some of his movies. With a familiar voice cast, I'm sure this will bring in some people to the audience.

Nope. Nope. Nope. The second I heard Will Ferrell's voice it was done. I can't hear somebody familiar without picturing their face and then boom all I see is a fat curly haired guy with a blue beanie on. The animation, (from what I just saw) looks pretty good, better then Dreamworks' usual P.O.S. movies. But, I really don't like anything about this trailer.

  • Duck
Hehe I'm diggin his fish/gorilla sidekick

looks pretty sharp to me. ferrell's voice fits pretty well
  • daniel felts
    Seems pretty enjoyable.
  • Yeah, what Hedgehog said. I've said it before, I'll say it again... Stop with the big name stars doing vocals in animated films. Plus there's some super talented voice artist out there who could have used the work. Where is this generation's Mel Brooks?

This looks like aright load of Dream works shit in 3D has well. The trailer is a load of shit it could have been better? what's the story anyway whats it about.
  • LOL, great ac dc music, and top actors like Will Ferrel and Brad Pitt doing voice overs, must watch it.
  • Mr. Pants
Ferrel's voice doesn't fit the character one bit
  • Dan
Ah look more shit from Dreamworks!!

    i don't know about this

This is one of the worst teasers I've ever seen in my film-going life. Do these guys realize what the point of a teaser is? I mean, they're supposed to make people want to see your movie, right? This teaser doesn't make the film look like it would be even remotely good. I already hate all the characters. I hate the soundtrack. I hate the visual style. The CG animation crash has begun. I think Dreamworks and some of these other, lesser studios are going to find out the hard way that running a shit script through your animation department isn't going to make an instant hit anymore.
  • my name is…
It's just a teaser, let's not get too carried away with the insults just yet people lol... To be fair, that last gag with the stereo was pretty funny. It isn't great but hopefully the 1st (real) trailer will be an improvement. Btw Squiggly_P I do agree that some Dreamworks products have been grim, but Madagascar was great, and a few others...give it a chance before u suckerpunch 'em :/ (o and talking of suckerpunch, Alex, any new info of the filming/current state of Zack Snyder's Suckerpunch...? haha...slightly off topic)
  • The Man With No Name
    This is terrible...
  • Catz2
Dreamsworks just blew it. 3 bad movies in one year... :/ Looks awful.
    gonna pass on this one.......
  • arjones
    sucky trailer.
  • SkaOreo
It's way too early to say this is awful. I need to see a trailer to see if this will be at least a decent watch.
  • Shemah
I agree #21. It's too soon to tell.. But farrell's voice doesn't suit his character too much. just sayin'.. I'll just wait for another trailer to decide whether i'll take the kids to watch this.
  • Any animated movie that makes a point of advertising it's voice actors over the story itself (aka all of Dreamworks' animated features) is already starting off with a 95-99% chance of being terrible.
  • Looks terrible but I'm sure my son will love it. At least it has Will Ferrell in it.
  • Tony
It might be ok you can't really tell much about it yet.
  • Cyborger
I hate Will Ferrel. I was with this until they said his name.
  • I Like it... I want to see more.. i dont care if you feel taht thi movie sucks .. i like the robot with the hilarious xD
