Harold & Kumar Christmas and American Pie 4 Get Directors

Back in February we heard that Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle writers/creators Jon Hurwitz & Hayden Schlossberg would be scripting a whole new batch of raunchiness with American Pie 4. Now Risky Biz reports the duo will in fact direct the sequel which is looking to bring back the cast of the original 1999 sex comedy. The project is starting to move quickly because of strong interest from the original cast (since most of them don't have anything else to do). This also means they'll be handing off A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas to Todd Strauss Schulson who doesn't really have that impressive of a resume.
Both of the plots of the R-rated comedies are being kept under wraps (obviously), but let's be honest, we're not really looking for substance in the story as much as promises of plenty of hilarity (of course it would be nice to have both). Either way, A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas means some more quality stoner humor, and if a new American Pie is enough to stop the horrid straight-to-DVD spin-offs, that Eugene Levy seems to be feeding his family with, then that's fine by me. Still, the comedy sequels might start overstaying their welcome at this rate. We can only hope for the best for both of these, I guess. What do you guys think?
Update: After director Todd Strauss Schulson called me a "fucking dickhead" on Twitter, I decided to check out some of his past work and it turns out he's actually the perfect director to take over on Harold & Kumar. Over at SlashFilm, they posted a bunch of his comedy short films, and you can get a sense from his work in those, that he's actually not a bad director, despite our comments above. So I thought we should clarify this and point out that it's not always the best idea to make assumptions based off of IMDb filmographies.
