January Jones is Now Officially Cast as Emma Frost in X-Men

Wow, sorry for the confusion! Deadline is reporting tonight (and Fox has confirmed with us) that January Jones will be starring in Matthew Vaughn's upcoming X-Men: First Class as Emma Frost, the "gorgeous mutant with telepathic powers." The confusion is that we all thought Alice Eve, of She's Out of My League, had landed that exact role months ago, but apparently "no deal was concluded" with Eve and so the hot (in more ways than one) "Mad Men" star is taking on the role as the White Queen instead. In addition to Jones, actress Zoe Kravitz has been cast to play Angel (maybe they mean Storm instead?) in X-Men: First Class.

Matthew Vaughn and crew is still gearing up to start shooting in a few weeks in London, aiming for release early next summer. Jones and Kravitz join a cast including Michael Fassbender (Magneto), James McAvoy (Xavier), Nicholas Hoult (Beast), Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), Caleb Landry Jones (Banshee), Lucas Till (Havoc), Edi Gathegi (Darwin), Rose Byrne (MacTaggert), Kevin Bacon as the villain, and Oliver Platt as the mysterious "The Man in Black." Emma Frost is a popular X-Men superhero who fans have been waiting to see properly in an X-Men movie for a while. Jones has a lot of buzz right now because of "Mad Men" and she looks to be a perfect fit for the White Queen. The more I hear about this cast, the better it gets! You, too?

thank you for ruining the xmen franchise again! i very much like it.i also like how the story has nothing to do with first class and you are starting a whole new story.also added in a bunch of new mutants to make it confusing almost like xmen 3.but i thought it was good.thanks again fox and vaughn,im happy now a_holes

I think the Angel they meant is Angel Salvadore one of Grant Morrison's creations from New X-men. She had bug like powers and was a dark skinned Hispanic- American so Zoe Kravitz is actually a good choice.

#4 is right but let me add this Angel Salvadore is also called Tempest and the definition for Tempest is a violent windstorm, esp. one with rain, hail, or snow.

My god... she is absolutely smoking hot and a damn fine actress! She was terrific in Three Burials. Vaughn hasn't made a bad film, he is an absolute genius, you lads have nothing to worry about!

Big mistake for Alice Eve! She probably asked for too much money, they said no and lost out and now January Jones has the role. I think Alice would have been PERFECT for this! She would have made a name for herself with this i reckon. Shame.

This is so dumb. Totally nothing like the comic books (AS USUAL). Thanks, Hollywood for ruining it all over again. 1st --> McAvoy as Xavier, MAJOR FAIL. Xavier wasn't young when he formed the X-Men. Patrick Stewart PLEASE!!! 2nd --> They're mish-mashing the Deadly Genesis storyline with so many other comic runs. This is going to be horrible. When you say X-Men First Class, that means: Cyclops Iceman Angel Beast Jean Period. None of that Sage as a secret 6th student or X-Men 1.5. Ugh
