Jason Segel & Ed Helms Join Duplass Brothers Stoner Comedy
by Ethan Anderton
March 11, 2010
Earlier this year at Sundance, the Duplass Brothers (Mark and Jay) made quite a splash with their most recent film Cyrus, starring John C. Reilly and Jonah Hill. Now the writing/directing duo are teaming up with another pair of comedic stars for what looks to be another stellar comedy as THR reports Jason Segel (Forgetting Sarah Marshall) and Ed Helms (The Hangover) have joined the stoner comedy Jeff Who Lives at Home, which chronicles a day in the life of two brothers, one a loser (Segel) who lives at home and the other (Helms) more together, but overbearing. Judy Greer is also in talks to play Helm's wife.
Along with the Duplass Brothers, Jason Reitman is also producing the film through his Right of Way Films as is John Malkovich via his Mr. Mudd production banner. Though the film is still set to begin shooting next month in Louisiana, the role of the brothers' mother is still waiting to be filled. I haven't gotten the chance to see Cyrus yet, but the trailer and reviews certainly have me excited for it, and the Duplass Brothers seem to have a fresh comedic voice. I'm very excited to see their filmmaking career continue to blossom, especially working with high caliber comedic talent like Helms and Segel. We'll definitely keep you updated on this!
