Kristen Bell & Anna Paquin

Though shooting has already started up in Ann Arbor, Michigan last month, USA Today discovered a couple more additions to the cast of Wes Craven's new sequel Scream 4. Apparently young starlets Kristen Bell (Fanboys) and Anna Paquin ("True Blood") will appear, but likely only in the form of expected cameos of characters who will quickly bite the dust. Drew Barrymore was the first cameo who (spoiler alert!) ended up dead meat in the opening sequence of the original Scream. Her execution was an homage to Janet Leigh's surprise death in Psycho, and what better way to raise the stakes than with a couple of lovely young girls?

There's still a chance that Paquin and Bell may actually have more than a cameo role, but we're going with the obvious since the two have been added very late into production. They join original franchise survivors Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox and David Arquette not to mention lots of new cast members like Hayden Panetierre, Alison Brie, Mary McDonnell, Emma Roberts, Adam Brody, Marley Shelton and Erik Knudsen. Though we've heard about some script problems, maybe fans can still take solace in the fact that The Ghost Face Killer's original voice will be back for this new installment. We'll keep you updated as production on Scream 4 continues until its release in April 2011. Is the buzz continuing to build for this? Who's excited?
