Kristen Stewart in the First Trailer for 'Welcome to the Rileys'

Remember that movie I got yelled at for saying that Kristen Stewart looked "slutty" in it? Well, the official trailer for Welcome to the Rileys, starring Kristen Stewart as a stripper/prostitute, has debuted today on Yahoo. They're positioning it as the big "what's next" for Stewart (and the rest of the Twilight stars) but it's a much more mature role for her and not something every last Twilight tween should be running out and seeing. I saw it at Sundance and enjoyed it quite a bit, but it's not particularly a stand out flick. It has some sweet moments and it's a solid effort from Jake Scott (son of Ridley Scott). And it stars James Gandolfini!

On a business trip to New Orleans, a damaged man seeks salvation by caring for a wayward young girl.

Welcome to the Rileys is directed by up-and-coming filmmaker Jake Scott, a veteran music video and short films director making his second feature following Plunkett & Macleane in 1999. The screenplay was written by Ken Hixon (Inventing the Abbotts, City by the Sea). This premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year. Samuel Goldwyn Films is the most recent distributor for the film and is bringing Welcome to the Rileys to limited theaters starting on November 5th this fall. I really wanna see Stewart break away from the Twilight world and get back on track with her actual acting career, and this seems like a giant step in that direction. So long story short, I'm in.

@10 I agree. Although some may disagree, I thought she was fantastic in Adventureland. Funny thing is most Twilight fans hated that movie since they just didn't "get it."

This looks very powerful; I'm really looking forward to watching it. Great cast - the movie will also allow young(er) audiences to realise that Stewart is a very good actress, that wasn't born with the Twilight series.

looks good. in a weird way it kind of reminds me of "pontiac moon" with the crazy wife who wont leave home but then finds herself after chasing her husband.

I actually think Kristen Stewart looks like she gives a good performance in this. She seems like the classic example of a good actress that only acts well when paired with the right director. I can't really figure out what this movie is supposed to be about, but it does look to be quite good. By the way, I don't really think Kristen Stewart looks slutty in this.

Something about Kristen Stewart I just cant stand. She always comes off as aloof and quite a dunce in interviews.
