Must Watch: Badass Trailer for Zack Snyder's Sucker Punch!

Oh hell yes! Warner Bros has decided to debut most of all the awesome footage from Zack Snyder's Sucker Punch that showed at Comic-Con online via Apple today and it is badass. If those sexy character posters were any indication, this is a must watch trailer that you will all (hopefully) love. Both Ethan and I loved the footage and I cannot wait to see more from this because it looks so damn unique. Sucker Punch stars Emily Browning, Vanessa Hudgens, Jena Malone, Abbie Cornish, Jamie Chung, Carla Gugino, Jon Hamm, Scott Glenn and Oscar Isaac. Sucker Punch is Zack Snyder's first movie not based on previous material, but an original idea that he came up with and turned into a screenplay with co-writer Steve Shibuya. Set in the 1950's, Sucker Punch follows Baby Doll (Emily Browning) who is confined to a mental institution by her stepfather, who intends to have her lobotomized in five days. While there, she imagines an alternative reality to hide her from the pain, and begins planning her escape, needing to steal five objects to help get her out before she is deflowered by a vile man. Warner Brothers is bringing Sucker Punch to theaters on March 25th, 2011 next year. Thoughts?

this is a shorter clip from comic-con. it's like a 13-year old boy's wet dream. zombies, orcs, nazis, samurais, hot chicks, guns, swords, dragons, steam punk stuff... i dunno what else synder can cram in there. i'm not complaining. definitely eye-candy.

I don't know. It looks great, but the basic plot is still that it's all happening in her head. Basically, it's all a dream. As wicked as it looks, it is an excuse to cram everything into the flick, awesome or not. It looks fantastic and because of that I'm seeing it.

I'm getting the vibe that this could really end up being classic...the visuals are so unique, great concept, etc. And seeing the trailer, I think Zack Snyder really should have been the one to direct Lemony Snicket's Series of Unfortunate Events. All the gothic imagery on display here would have been perfect in that movie, provided Jim Carrey was absent. Anyway, that's what this trailer made me think of, partially because star Emily Browning was in the Snicket movie. BTW she got really hot...

300, awsome, watchman, suckt, snyder now can make an in between movie. i don't get the trailer(i'm not familiar with the suckerpunch book). mentally insane, fighting dragons and samurai's, don't really get a feel of whats going on. looks good, just not completly sold yet.

Yay Slow-Mo is back!!!!! Loved Dawn of the dead & 300. Watchmen, IMO was no doubt visually stunning as I'm sure this will be, but something was missing. In the end this might be a rental for me, but NO doubts what-so-ever that the visuals will be sick.

I know you guys are gotta complain when I say this. But I really did not want this movie to become a "Hot chicks with machine guns" flick. Some may argue that's the point but as soon as I read the description of this a heard it's an almost all female cast. I just wish for once an all female cast would be something different then a tearjerker or a "teenage boy's fantasy."

So basically, if anyone is looking for a great story, go somewhere else. I think this will be great but can't get over the fact that it's still going to be a giant middle finger to everyone watching. It's in her head. If I were to create some alternate reality to deal with my pain, I'd be branded a weirdo and a fag. If Hollywood does it, it's a visual masterpiece. It still looks cool but it's also still a big "F you, it never really happened."

How can anyone take these actresses seriously in their parts. Already the thing is ruined for me anyway. They should have put some French actresses in there, like either of the two actresses from Martyrs, and the girls from High Tension. They could play those parts far more believeaby than the stereotypical blond bimbos seen in every single Hollywood movie out there. I think my biggest problem with this is that they say it is a "young girl" then it mentions that her step father forces her into an institution (so she is under the age of 18), I would guess they are all about 16ish, but then they dress them up like hookers. I just feel like it has a lot of elements to it that make me think of pedophiles. I wish he could have worked it so that they were in college or something. Maybe only people that have kids (specifically little girls!) will agree, but still!
