Official Title for Michael Bay's 'Transformers 3' Finally Surfaces
With only vague details on the story and a plethora of photos from on-lookers nearby various sets in Chicago, we're still very much in the dark about the forthcoming Transformers sequel. But being in the dark is exactly where we're heading anyway since TFW2005 discovered (with confirmation from Collider) that the title for Pink Floyd's Michael Bay's robot fighting bonanza is Transformers: The Dark of the Moon. It doesn't exactly reveal anything about the plot, but without referencing the previously revealed, spoiler-filled opening to the film, it might reference the last three days of the lunar cycle, when the moon is not visible in the night sky.
Remember, in addition to franchise stars like Shia LaBeouf, Josh Duhamel and John Tuturro, new cast members include Patrick Dempsey, Alan Tudyk, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, John Malkovich, Frances McDormand and Ken Jeong. We also know some new robots take the form of a fancy Ferrari, and pictures have spotted various heavily modified race cars and more. And while it hasn't been confirmed, Transformers: The Dark of the Moon might be Michael Bay's last foray into fighting robots. The director previously said, "This one really builds to a final crescendo. It's not three multiple endings. As a trilogy it really ends. It could be rebooted again, but I think [Transformers 3] has a really killer ending." We'll find out when the film gets released on July 11th, 2011.
