Centurion Trailer

I hate to say it, but haven't we seen enough of this movie already? I just want to see the damn thing already, I'm tired of red band trailers and even green bands that just show the same stuff. I really, really hoping this is good. They're boasting Scott Weinberg's name (@scottEweinberg) on the Apple page quite a bit with some glowing quotes, so I hope that's a good sign. I've heard some mixed things, and I'm quite skeptical with Neil Marshall, but Michael Fassbender looks so badass and so does Dominic West. I believe this is the very last trailer Magnolia is going to debut, as this finally hits theaters in August as well as VOD this month. Enjoy!

Centurion is both written and directed by British auteur Neil Marshall, of Dog Soldiers, The Descent, and Doomsday previously. It's an epic action adventure film set in 117 AD about a group of Roman soldiers who must fight for their lives behind enemy lines after their entire legion is decimated in a devastating guerrilla attack. This already premiered at ActionFest and during SXSW earlier this year as well. Magnolia Pictures is distributing it in the US. Centurion will hit limited theaters starting on August 27th as well as early online VOD and Xbox starting July 30th. Visit the official website: Anyone going to watch?

Interesting, doesn't pull my heartstrings. A blu-ray rental for me. Only character I did enjoy is the broad, "who can hunt anything over any terrain"

Matthew on Jul 12, 2010

yeah Imogen Poots is in I'll check it out.

Xerxex on Jul 12, 2010

Why is it that every time that there is a Roman movie all the characters have a British accent?

saw an advanced screening..gory, but way too much of the same stuff. Whoever plays the baddie girl in the movie is a goddess, so hot

In Europe, Centurion was released this week, and I can honestly say I enjoyed it completely. The story is a little thin, but the acting and especially the HARD-R bloody action is amazing. A solid (B-)movie which definitely beats most recent historical epics such a Prince of Persia and Clash of The Titans when it comes to sheer adreline and guts! Go see it.

The trailers have never caught my eye. I don't think I'm seeing this one.

#5 it's michael fassbender, and simply because he is in it playing a badass, i'm down. looks like a grimy version of braveheart, and i wouldn't expect less from the guy that did dog soldiers. however, #1 is right on- probably not worth hunting down a theater playing it, but definitely worth a rental.

the action looks completely bad-ass! i can't wait to see it. i'm not expecting a deep story or anything.........just a fun watch.

What Kenneth said in #6 sums it up, really. Good solid "b" movie (though Ironically far better than many a big budget blockbuster). There's a bit of life and grit in it.

This trailer gave a little more story than the last in my opinion. Still, it did not impress too much.

Another homo-erotic gladiator movie? Really...?

Spike Murdock, Poet-at-Large on Jul 13, 2010

#19 why so homophobic?

Xerxex on Jul 13, 2010

@ Spike....action man movie=homo erotica?....sounds like some hidden emotions coming out! Looks cool! im down if McNulty is in it. I guess thats my homo erotica crush ; )

mcwilly on Jul 13, 2010

Standard enough trailer, nothing new really except I loved the image of the fireballs rolling down towards the poor suckers trying to "hold the line". It's gonna be hard to see Dominic West in any role other than McNulty but I gotta say, he does have the perfect face for this, it's so haggard and cavernous. Haven't seen anything by Neil Marshall but I've heard good things about The Descent. This movie looks to me like a good old medieval violence type story which I can get down with although I'll probably go on cheap Tuesday if I see it in theatres at all.
