Ryan Reynolds & Sandra Bullock Back Again in 'Most Wanted'

Ryan Reynolds & Sandra Bullock

After having one of the best years of her career, it looks like Sandra Bullock may be reteaming with Ryan Reynolds to try and replicate the on-screen chemistry that made last summer's The Proposal such a box office success. Both THR and EW report that the duo will reunite for Most Wanted, an action comedy that follows a criminal (Bullock) being escorted to court by a U.S. Marshall (Reynolds) when they're ambushed and forced to go on the run. Even more good news for fans of The Proposal: director Anne Fletcher, writer Pete Chiarelli and producers David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman are developing this new project as well.

While Reynolds and Bullock did have great chemistry in The Proposal, I found the movie itself, mainly the writing, to be a bit lacking despite a great effort from Betty White. It seems like all the love for Reynolds and Bullock gives them the potential to become a new favorite on-screen couple, perhaps up to the level of Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan proportions, but the writing better catch up with the talent fast. Most Wanted, which is said to be similar to Midnight Run (also an action comedy which is getting its own sequel) definitely has potential, but I hope Chiarelli gives Reynolds and Bullock something more to work with on paper this time.

Though Bullock doesn't have anything else lined up to follow her Academy Award winning performance in The Blind Side, Reynolds is quite busy as he is currently shooting Green Lantern and is already signed on for an adaptation of the graphic novel R.I.P.D. as well as The Change-Up, a comedy with Jason Bateman.

However, they should switch the roles, Reynolds the criminal, Bullock the cop.

The Proposal was terrible. Staying away from this one. Box office success does not a good movie make.

I thought The Proposal was damn funny. I would love to see them come back and do a sequel to "The Proposal" with them already married for a year at this point.
