Sacha Baron Cohen or Jemaine Clement for Men in Black 3?

After years of speculation and rumors, we finally got solid news on Men in Black 3 when Tropic Thunder writer Etan Cohen was officially brought on to write the third installment back in October, followed shortly by the less certain word that Josh Brolin was being strongly considered for a lead. Now comes a fairly juicy rumor from Bloody Disgusting who says that Sony is also very interested in adding Sacha Baron Cohen (Borat, Brüno) or Jemaine Clement (Gentlemen Broncos, "Flight of the Conchords") into the mix as a character named Yaz. It could a new agent, but I can't see either of these two playing anything but an alien.

The Men in Black franchise has brought along an interesting cast of aliens in the past played by the likes of Johnny Knoxville, Lara Flynn Boyle, Vincent D'Onofrio and Tony Shalhoub and I would love to see either Cohen or Clement thrown into the mix. Hell, keep both of them in. Either way, the third installment likely can't be any worse than the second which just lost everything that was great about the first, which, if you're keeping track, came out 13 years ago. I just hope this gets moving quickly so we can write up the 3-D news and get that out of the way now. I'd like to hope for the best with this sequel, but it's still too early to tell.

I love Jermaine Clement, I am a huge Flight of the Conchords fan and Eagle vs Shark is one of my favourite films. It would be great to see him in a mainstream movie. I agree, I cannot see him as anything other than an alien. I am not so fussed for Cohen, he was good in Sweeney Todd but other than that I am not so bothered. Clement in, Cohen out is my vote, but both in would not be so bad.

Either would work for me, not sure if Cohen would really fit into the atmosphere, or wouldn't try and overdo it. Also I liked the second Men in Black, you mentioned johnny knoxville as an interesting casting choice, that was 2.

Oh god let it be Jemaine... From the two its just the better choise... Sasha can make people laugh but hes not serious enough for any other type of thing, even other comedies...

I cannot believe how crappy the 2nd one was. It leaves me with no interest for a 3rd, a reboot or even a mention. BAH!

JEMAINE!!!!!!! They should just have him and Brett Mckenzie as the two agents seriously. Flight of the Conchords battling aliens as Men In Black, I would be at the first showing with all my friends. If that doesnot happen though I am definately not going to see this, the 2nd one sucked and there is no reason to keep it going the same way as before

i really have no intrest in this film at all,there is other films that i would rather see get made,but won't because some prick has said "men in black 3 is a good idea." if my life depended on it i would pick SACHA BARON COHEN his a comedy genius.

I say Sacha, dude proved he can act his ass off in Da Ali G Show and everyone who says "he can only do comedy" is stupid, it does not take ACTING to do comedy (See: Adam Sandler and other SNL to Movie stars). What Sacha does is becomes his character, yes they are always used for comedic acts but im sure he can do the same thing with a serious movie. PS - Dude was snubbed for best actor nomination for Borat.

I not real thrilled about the whole thing, if they make a third movie, Fine. If they dont, Whatever. I liked the 2 movie more than the first, Smith doesnt act like a annoying badass know it all. I think he's alot better in the second. Yeah, there's some holes in the movie, but it's friggin MIB.

I haven't seen either Men in Black One or Two, but if Jemaine Clement is going to be in it, I will definitely see No. 3! I've been sorely missing Jemaine and Bret and the Flight of the Conchord cast. First season was the best. I still tell everyone what they've missed.
