TGB Episode 1: Deuces Wild (Guest: FS's Alex Billington)

The Golden Briefcase

We're proud to present the very first episode in a brand new edition of The Golden Briefcase podcast on FirstShowing. The show used to be hosted by We Are Movie Geeks (you can still find old episodes there), but in order to grow the show even further, hosts Tim Buel and Jeremy Kirk have decided to make this their new home. On this premiere episode of The Golden Briefcase, Tim and Jeremy are joined by Alex Billington to discuss their Picks of the Week, new DVD/Blu-Ray releases, and newest trailers; and to chat about actor / director collaborations in honor of Green Zone's release last weekend. Listen to the first episode below!

The Golden Briefcase is also broadcast LIVE on Tuesday nights starting at 6:30PM (PST). You can listen in via our Ustream page or by visiting our own live page right here on FS. The podcast is just as fun to listen to live while it's being recorded, with plenty of special guests, so I suggest you tune in the next time it records!

The Mist is underrated. Very good movie with an awesome ending.

Interesting show. My favorite actor/director collaborations (that I can think of, and most of these are classic examples)... Robert De Niro or Leonardo DiCaprio/Martin Scorsese Diane Keaton or Mia Farrow/Woody Allen Philip Seymour Hoffman or John C. Reilly/Paul Thomas Anderson John Wayne/John Ford Toshiro Mifune/Akira Kurosawa Jimmy Stewart/Alfred Hitchcock Klaus Kinski/Werner Herzog
  • Kinski and Herzog is probably my favorite of all time. Such a volatile relationship that is always evident on screen. If you haven't checked it out, you should look up MY BEST FIEND. Great doc.

  • Tim Buel
Yep! Except tomorrow we will starting a little later than usual. We will be live at 7:30pm PST!
  • Always Tuesday night, but sometimes the start time might be jostled around a bit because of screenings.
  • Zade
the reason why twilight was in the horror montage was because the film was horrifying itself.
