The Wachowskis Have Another Secret New Project Called 'Hood'?

Um wait what - where did this come from? Heat Vision has just published a very interesting exclusive story stating that the Wachowski Siblings, Andy and Lana, have another secret project in the works that isn't Cobalt Neural 9 or the Cloud Atlas adaptation that Halle Berry was just talking about coming up. So what is it? Apparently it's called Hood and, you guessed it, it's another "modern, urban take on the Robin Hood myth." Didn't we just go through this with Ridley Scott? Apparently they wrote the script and are directing, but how soon, no one knows? As always, Joel Silver is producing the project, and it's "shrouded in secrecy."

So here's all they know about it. Apparently they're looking at actors, including Will Smith, but that's it. They add, vaguely: "While a take on Robin Hood may not be much to go on, knowing the proclivities of the duo, it will undoubtedly have a brand of visual take and their comic book-fused pop art sensitivities." Okay, so that's not much. Will this be sci-fi? Because if so, that might be pretty cool, but we're not sure what the situation is. This is a surprising announcement, right out of left field, so I'm hoping this means good things. I'd love to see the Wachowskis get back with a badass concept. We'll keep you guys updated. Thoughts?

I'm with Xerxex. I'm starting to think that the Wachowskis didn't even come up with The Matrix after seeing all of the cinematic blunders these two have produced. Quit reheashing sh*t and do something original!!!

Outside of the first Matrix film, these guys haven't done CRAP!!!! The 2nd and 3rd ones were stupid, Speed Racer was just awful and before someone points out something obscure thing they did that is actually almost good, don't bother. These guys are over-rated. I love the first Matrix. I truly believe it is one of the best movies made, but it looks like more and more that is was lightning in a bottle.

Ridley Scott's Robin Hood just bombed!! Why on earth would any studio finance another Robin Hood right now? Maybe in 20 years some studio will try again, but not now, just after a high profile BOMB of the character. Look. I loved Matrix 1. It's my favorite movie of all time. But then one brother had a mental meltdown and the other has tied himself in knots trying to cope with that. If we are ever to get a good movie out of either of them again, they need to go their separate ways. Then Larry/Lana can do interesting, boundary-pushing indie stuff and Andy can do big spectacle tentpole-type stuff. Everybody wins. But as long as this dysfunction is tied at the hip, we're going to get crap.
