Tommy Lee Jones Joining The First Avenger: Captain America?

We heard that you've been missing out on taking your dose of rumors with huge grain of salt, so we went ahead and picked up your prescription. This is a big rumor coming from UGO, who reports that Tommy Lee Jones is in negotiations to appear in Captain America: The First Avenger. Obviously he won't be playing Cap, and Red Skull has already been handed to Hugo Weaving, so your guess is as good as ours who Jones might be playing in the flick, but with its WWII setting, I'm sure there are plenty of gruff generals for him to play, or maybe he's the man who will oversee the super soldier serum program that produces Cap.

Either way, putting Tommy Lee Jones in another comic adaptation (remember Men in Black was a comic book) sounds good to me. Of course, he's got another blockbuster on his plate coming up as we've heard that Jones will be returning for Men in Black 3, which is still gearing up for production sometime soon. I'm not incredibly familiar with all of the characters integral to Captain America's storyline and his origin to make a reasonable guess at a specific character for Jones to take on, so I'll leave it up to the comic book obsessed readers to speculate. Who might Lee Jones be playing in Captain America: The First Avenger?

probably General Chester Phillips: General Phillips hand picked 4-F army reject Steve Rogers to become a part of the 1940 Operation Reborn experiment. In particular, he admired Rogers patriotic spirit. Later, Phillips was a part of picking Rogers as the eventual Super-Soldier Captain America. Phillips also oversaw Rogers initial training as well as some of his early missions.

I can not wait for this movie to come out. I love the casting and any movie with TLJ is bound to be good.

I would guess... That since Tommy Lee Jones is in this film, if he plays Phillips, he's one and done. If he plays Dugan, he might be in future films?

well, let's just hope it's Tommy Lee Jones from Men In Black, and not Tommy Lee Jones from Batman Forever as Two-Face...course, I don't think Jones can be blamed too much for that outing...
