Two Creepy TV Spots for Dowdle Brothers' Devil Have Arrived

Bad things happen for a reason. Despite bearing M. Night Shyamlan's name (which everyone always laughs at), I have to admit I'm pretty damn excited to see Devil. I'm a sucker for contained thrillers and this looks like it takes the concept and flips it around and sends it for a ride, which I know sounds cheesy, but it was a pun! Anyway, two new TV spots recently showed up on YouTube and they're both quite interesting. One of them is called "Spanish Prayer" (you'll see why, it's good) and the other is "Coincidence", another good one setting up the story. I'm surprised they're keeping Shyamalan's name on these though. Watch both below!

Check out the second new TV spot for M. Night Shyamalan's Devil:

Devil is directed by Minnesota-born filmmakers/brothers Drew and John Eric Dowdle, of The Poughkeepsie Tapes and Quarantine, the remake of [Rec], previously. The screenplay for this was written by Brian Nelson, of both David Slade's Hard Candy and 30 Days of Night previously, and is based on a story conceived by M. Night Shyamalan, who also produced the film. This is the first in Shyamalan's The Night Chronicles series of thrillers. The second film in the series will be called Twelve Strangers. Universal Pictures is bringing Devil to theaters starting September 17th this fall. You can watch the official trailer for Devil here. Thoughts?

Why did they have to censor her boobs :(

His name scares me away from movies...

I still think this looks cool. Bunch of people trapped in an elevator, one of them is the Devil. Nice premise. Will see it.
  • Spider
Despite Shymalan's name, I'll still be checkin' this flick out! Shymalan is only the producer, which is ok; the same could be said of, "The Last Exorcism". As long as Eli Roth (the master of schlock) is the producer and nothing else, that flick should at least be mildly entertaining as well. 😉

I bet its the older lady.
  • feeheeheeheeny
I bet it's either the elevator or all of them with different aspects of the devil (the latter sounds so cheesy and cliche, but you never know).
  • harm
If its any good it will be because of Brian Nelson's involvment.

#5 Xerxex i bet your right its always the old people are the Devil
  • How does one crawl across the floor of an elevator? It's an elevator. She's only crawling so we can get a look at her floppy boobs.
  • Scared S-less!!!
I'm betting $105.73 that the devil is the indian looking curly haired guy with the RED TIE!!!!!!!!!!!!

#5 and 8 - ever see "the omen"? but if it is the old lady, that'd be fine with me........ i mean, damn......... that old lady in "legion" was freaky.

  • Satan be damned! Ah the old evil in an elevator trick yaheraaaaaaaaaaaaaah. Could have left out the mad nightwatchman bit, that would have been an odd twist to see.

i thoroughly enjoyed the full trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wYy7igKD21A pretty much what i expect it to be: suspense/thriller based on the idea of being trapped in enclosed space with scary thing. ill go just for the scare!
  • Trademark
I pretty much guarantee that the devil transfers from person to person everytime they touch...look at the first trailer and notice how there's an emphasis on the people touching one another...
  • jonathan
@Trademark #16: ooooh thats a pretty good theory! so like, possession? ive been all over the other vids to see if i can catch what youre seeing and i kind of see it too. the website has other clips too, tell me if you catch anything i miss: devilmovie.net
