Bad things happen for a reason. Despite bearing M. Night Shyamlan's name (which everyone always laughs at), I have to admit I'm pretty damn excited to see Devil. I'm a sucker for contained thrillers and this looks like it takes the concept and flips it around and sends it for a ride, which I know sounds cheesy, but it was a pun! Anyway, two new TV spots recently showed up on YouTube and they're both quite interesting. One of them is called "Spanish Prayer" (you'll see why, it's good) and the other is "Coincidence", another good one setting up the story. I'm surprised they're keeping Shyamalan's name on these though. Watch both below!

Devil is directed by Minnesota-born filmmakers/brothers Drew and John Eric Dowdle, of The Poughkeepsie Tapes and Quarantine, the remake of [Rec], previously. The screenplay for this was written by Brian Nelson, of both David Slade's Hard Candy and 30 Days of Night previously, and is based on a story conceived by M. Night Shyamalan, who also produced the film. This is the first in Shyamalan's The Night Chronicles series of thrillers. The second film in the series will be called Twelve Strangers. Universal Pictures is bringing Devil to theaters starting September 17th this fall. You can watch the official trailer for Devil here. Thoughts?
