Video Interview: Toby Kebbell from The Sorcerer's Apprentice
by Alex Billington
July 12, 2010
There are two fantastic summer movies hitting theaters later this week, the first of which is Disney's The Sorcerer's Apprentice, mainly starring Nicolas Cage and Jay Baruchel. However, another outstanding actor who stars in the movie is Toby Kebbell, who you may recognize from Alexander or RocknRolla (as Johnny Quid) or also in Prince of Persia (as Garsiv). Like Mark Strong, Kebbell is a British "secret weapon" who's on the rise, an incredibly talented character actor that I love seeing in anything, especially great roles like this one. I've talked to him before but this time decided to make it official and get it on camera. Enjoy!

I always choose to interview actors that I'm actually a fan of and those that I know have a lot to say, which is why I spoke with Kebbell. I thought he did a great job in Prince of Persia (even though that movie was bad) and The Sorcerer's Apprentice (which was actually a lot of fun) especially because he plays such unique and different characters in each. My focus was on what his process is like, how he gets into the characters, and so on. In The Sorcerer's Apprentice, Kebbell plays Drake Stone, who is a Criss Angel-like show magician that actually has magical powers. The movie hits theaters on July 14th. Stay tuned for a even more interviews!
