The Avengers

I'm calling this exactly as it is - it's barely a teaser. And it's nothing to get too excited about, unless you're truly a Marvel fan who has been waiting for this moment since the day you were born. That said, the first official teaser video unveiling the logo for Marvel's The Avengers has made its way online today courtesy of ComicBookMovie. This was shown at Comic-Con before Kevin Feige introduced the entire cast on-stage, which was a truly incredible experience. This was created by graphics studio Imaginary Forces, responsible for both the DC Comics and Marvel logos you see at the start of their movies. Watch the short teaser below!

Thanks to Cinema Blend for the embeddable version of the video (as I'm not sure this is supposed to be out). The Avengers is being directed and written by geek overlord Joss Whedon (of "Buffy", "Firefly", Serenity). The Avengers line-up will include Samuel L. Jackson as Agent Nick Fury, Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Clark Gregg as Agent Coulson, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Chris Evans as Captain America, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, and Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner / The Hulk. Paramount has set a May 4th, 2012 release for The Avengers, so we have a long way to go but I'm sure it'll be worth it.

    I half expected Samuel L. to start into a soliloquy about "great vengeance and furious anger..." Still, as far as a preview that really previews nothing, this is certainly one of the best.

    I've been waiting so long for this... and its finally here... and the wait was SO worth it because everyone's finally got it right. I'm not unhappy with any of it. The cast, the stories, the costumes, the directors.... I.... I think im going to cry..... lol

    #17 - Because that is a bootlegged version of the footage from Comic-Con. Paramount's legal team has already been removing the trailer from the start and we decided before posting it that it would be wrong to feature something illegally bootlegged. Sorry!
