Blitz Trailer

This is the kind of movie that Jason Statham was born to star in. Just let him be a British badass "tough guy" who kicks peoples' asses all day long and alter his character slightly each time and I'll watch a hundred of these movies. Yahoo UK (via SlashFilm) debuted a trailer for an action-thriller called Blitz starring Jason Statham that looks totally badass, plain and simple. Statham plays a tough guy, of course, who gets hired by the cops to track down a serial killer who's killing off the cops. It kind of reminds me of Snatch with its style and the energy it has, I'm really digging it. You've probably never heard of this, but now it's on your radar.

Watch the first international trailer for Elliott Lester's Blitz:

A tough cop (Jason Statham) is hired to take down a serial killer who has been targeting police officers.

Blitz is directed by British filmmaker Elliott Lester, a music video director of only one other feature film called Love Is the Drug previously. The adapted screenplay was written by Nathan Parker, who also wrote the screenplay for Duncan Jones' sci-fi flick Moon, and was based on Ken Bruen's novel of the same name. This was shot mostly in London last year. Lionsgate co-produced and is releasing the film, but hasn't set a date in 2011 for Blitz yet. Does that look badass or what? Where did this come from? Stay tuned for more!

Looks like a rental.

As most Ken Bruen fans know, this is based on one book in a series. I hope it does well so all the books will be made into films, and Statham has another franchise.

The trailer looks 5/5. I've never read the whole novel, just an excerpt at Ken Bruen's site, and I really really dug his style. I will buy the paperback once I get my mitts on some money, and I'll also watch the movie. The guy from MOON is on, so probably his adaptation is worth watching. By the way, guys, girls, does anymbody know the name of the song that appears in the trailer?

Looks nothing like Snatch....more like Harry Brown! Nice to see Statham back in his home town!

I just can't get into Statham. He's like the same guy in every flick. While I usually don't really have a problem with that, it bugs me with him. Probably just me. Carry on!

@ 23 The song is called Black Gloves, by Goose. Great song for a cool trailer.
