Watch: Captain Jack's Pirates of the Caribbean Comic-Con Video

Although the Disney panel on Thursday (live blog here) morning was initially only supposed to be focused on Tron Legacy, Disney had a few surprises in store for attendees in Hall H. One of those surprises was the debut of a fun little video for Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides featuring Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow chatting about the movie, including making a funny fourth-wall-breaking reference to Penélope Cruz being in the movie. I didn't expect that footage to show up online, but a clean, high quality version has appeared on YouTube (via TheMovieBox) and it looks like it's an official debut. Watch it below!

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides stars Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow again as well as Penélope Cruz, Ian McShane, Geoffrey Rush and Astrid Berges-Frisbey as a mermaid. The story in this is based on Tim Powers' book, which focuses heavily on the Fountain of Youth that was hinted at in the conclusion of At World's End. Chicago and Nine director Rob Marshall is helming this fourth Pirates of the Caribbean film and shooting starts this summer, primarily in Hawaii. If it is indeed being shot from the start in 3D, then it should be pretty cool to watch in 3D. It's still set for release on May 20th, 2011 next summer. Who's in?

Am I the only one who feels sad that the majority of the original cast are not involved with this sequel? They really should have left this franchise for a few years and then done it with a re-invigorated original team.

The reason the old cast are not part of this adventure is because Jack is stuck with Blackbeard and his crew. So the crew members have to be new characters. None of the old characters, apart from Jack, Gibbs, and Barbossa, fit within the new storyline.

I absolutely love the idea of Zombies Pirates in a Pirates of the Caribbean movie, because of the fact that they've already had undead cursed pirates that turned into skeletons untder the moon light in Pirates 1, and fish-people pirates in Pirates 2 and 3, so now they have Zombies to use in a Pirates of the Caribbean movie, and that sounds perfect for Pirates 4, especially because of there not being Zombie Pirates in a Pirates of the Caribbean movie yet, which does sound so cool !.
