Watch: Designer Neville Page Talking About 'Super 8' & 'Tron'

I had the honor of meeting concept designer and creature creator Neville Page on the set of Tron Legacy last year. His work on that movie mainly involved the various vehicles (lightcycles, light-buggies, light-jets) but that's not all he's done. In fact, Page's career in Hollywood has blown up recently. He used to design cars in Europe, but is now credited as the creature designer on films like Cloverfield, J.J. Abrams' Star Trek, and James Cameron's Avatar. Those titles alone got him work on upcoming projects like Tron, Green Lantern and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. Wired talked with Page at Comic-Con and finally posted their video.
As for talk of J.J. Abrams' Super 8, all he really says is that he's "done the range, the gamut, on Super 8." I wonder if that means there's more than just the alien we'll see, maybe a spacecraft, too, or if he's just tried everything to get this "creature" correct. Also, it's interesting to see him talking about how he has to design something from a clip that already exists, it's almost backwards, but I love that. Plus, I agree that Abrams is brilliant. And we already know that Tron Legacy looks incredible, especially the vehicles, so we should be thanking Page for most of that.
