Tron Legacy

Okay, make what you will of this, because it's not really that awesome. What I mean is, it's a good concept (remixing a trailer) and Tron Legacy has some amazing visuals, but this just feels like some amateur DJ doesn't know what he's doing with a bunch of gorgeous footage. Hat tip to MovieViral for originally finding this, but I'm not really sure how many of you will like what you see. Relm took pieces from the original test footage (which I confirmed with Joe Kosinski at Comic-Con will not be in the actual movie at all) and mixed in pieces of the last two trailers to make a funky remixed Tron Legacy music video. Watch at your own risk.

Check out the new Mike Relm remixed Tron Legacy trailer:

Sam Flynn (Garrett Hedlund), the tech-savvy son of Kevin Flynn (Jeff Bridges), looks into his father's disappearance and is pulled into the digital world of Tron where his father has been living for 25 years.

Tron Legacy is directed by first-time filmmaker Joseph Kosinski. The screenplay was co-written by Adam Horowitz ("Lost"), Richard Jefferies (Blood Tide, Living Hell), Edward Kitsis ("Lost"), and the director of the original movie, Steven Lisberger. This first got the greenlight last year because this early teaser played well at Comic-Con. Disney is bringing Tron Legacy to theaters in 3D starting on December 17th, 2010.

I don't understand why you would post this...
  • Ravster
Heh, so his formula is to grab a scene and mix over and over (and over) again. Meh.

  • #1 - Ha just for fun man! The Mike Relm guy did an official Iron Man TV spot remix this year too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9tC8httuFM8
  • spideyfan84
I agree with #1, this is completely useless
  • yea I agree with 1...should've posted something about this instead: http://geeksofdoom.com/2010/08/02/sin-city-director-robert-rodriguez-in-negotions-to-take-on-deadpool/
  • Ariel
THATS FUNNY!!! I'm from Alaska. That was amazing.
  • #6 - We already wrote about that in June: http://www.firstshowing.net/2010/06/14/robert-rodriguez-offered-to-direct-marvels-deadpool-movie/ That new story has no new updates. It only says "Rodriguez and studio Fox are negotiating. There's no deal yet, and the sides need to agree on a number of key points." Basically, nothing new, same as we were in June, once he gets officially signed, that's when we'll write about it again.

    Useless!

I actually really liked this one...better than his other stuff, hated that Iron Man 2 one. This was a great a trailer and better remix.
  • eric
@alex - alright, I never saw the Iron Man remix. It was a lot better than this one. And it gives this video more legitimacy to be on the site. I was just wondering why you would post it since it is a dj remix and your opinion you posted of it sounded like you didn't think it was good (which it isn't). Your point is valid though. Interesting concept, it is just for fun, and you want to have it posted if it gets a tv spot like his Iron Man one did. (But I highly doubt this one will).
  • danielvutran
The point of this is to make a beat / melody using footage from movies. It's well done, regardless of whether it fits your tastes or not (#1 and others.)
  • eric
@12 I was questioning the reason why it was posted on the site. I know what the point of a remix is, I'm not an idiot. I just think it's irrelevant to what this site is about. The remix itself isn't about Tron at all, it's about the DJ and this isn't a music site. It's a movie site. But since we're not talking about movies danielvultran, here's another remix for you. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hQp5l4-sfFA
  • Dandooo
Why all the fuss? It doesn't tIe away from the coolness of the footage and it was well done, no harm no foul.
  • Robert
you say he's also a DJ like that should some how lower his credibility ?? does being a DJ some how impair your ability to edit video ?? what is your point ?
  • Panda
I don't like this either. But ppl got diffrent taste, and it's good that you post something for every one. @8 Sick burn. haha you got him for sure. =D

    . . . . .

Had to go find the Iron Man remix to be sure...this guy rocks. Thanks for posting this...all the more psyched for Tron Legacy. Also, I'm sure the guys at Barely Political love the exposure...gotta love The Key of Awesome song parodies on YouTube... And the reason for posting it on this site is the same reason for reporting every little rumor and innuendo about what is happening in the world of film. It's all interconnected. Thanks, Alex!!

"Tron Legacy is directed by first-time filmmaker Joseph Kosinski " I dont get this part? How can a first-time director get a gig like this? Well, he's done ca 15 commercial, most are quite stunning. http://www.josephkosinski.com Not much on his site, but have a peek at some of his work, some are quite good :)

I'd have a better time throwing up than watch this again. This wasn't sick. It made me sick.....
  • Nut-Meg
I am so over Tron. Disney had better know for certain this is not gonna suck. And it was posted 'cause Alex is drooling all over this Tron hype. We have seen this before. It is the first film. TRON.
  • Lar
This remix isn't as good as Mike's others.
  • Quad
This was garbage. The Iron Man 2 remix was nearly as bad, but thankfully a bit less irritating. This was horrible.
  • Frank N. Stein
    Fucking AWESOME!!!!! Woo Hoo!!!
  • Me
    Too spasmic for my taste
  • case
Hrm... don't see what the problem was aside from pootastic video editting. Err... well, at least I like the song.
