Kick-Ass Featurette

Everyone excited that Kick-Ass comes out in exactly two more months? To celebrate this joyous occasion, we're featuring this new behind-the-scenes featurette (they call it a documentary) from Empire. In it, you'll see Matthew Vaughn, Aaron Johnson, Chloe Moretz, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, and Mark Strong all talk about making this movie. This is actually a really well put together little doc. Kick-Ass still looks as awesome as I can remember, I'm just dying to see it at this point! Anyway, there's a lot of kick ass stuff to see in this (pun intended, I guess) so make sure you check it out. We'll keep you updated on this until release. Enjoy!

Watch this behind-the-scenes doc for Matthew Vaughn's Kick-Ass:

Dave Lizewski one day decides to be a superhero, even though he has no powers, training or any reason.

Kick-Ass is both written and directed by British filmmaker Matthew Vaughn, of Layer Cake and Stardust previously. The screenplay was co-written by Vaughn and his writing partner Jane Goldman, of Stardust as well. The story is an adaptation of Mark Millar's comic of the same name that is currently in the middle of its first series. Kick-Ass was funded entirely by Matthew Vaughn and his own private investors and sold once finished earlier this year. Lionsgate is bringing Kick-Ass to theaters everywhere on April 16th this spring.

55 secs. awesome. random. but awesome.
  • That was almost totally uninformative, but at the same time far, far more interesting and exciting than the typical Behind the Scenes bullshit for upcoming films. Good job, Empire. Yeah, though, great looking film.
  • Vaughn is a seems like such a fun guy! Enjoyed this.

i'm looking forward to this movie. but vaughn said the movie "lives and dies" on how that british guy plays the lead?......maybe - but i think hitgirl and her dad are the ones i'm looking forward to.

Great video, cast seem to have real chemistry which is a good sign! As for needing the right Dave, I agree. In the comics he's fairly pathetic and useless while Hitgirl kicks all kinds of ass but he is still the focus of the comic, if the audience don't empathise with him then they wont like the movie, it'll end up a blip, "That movie where a little girl says the C-word".

I love everything about this movie, except Nic Cage. God damn him and his stupid face.
i got stardust on blu-ray the other day(very funny film).amazing how the guy behind stardust(all nice & pleasant) is doing kick ass (which is all blood & violence)to totallly different films, excellent.

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ To Matt: My thoughts exactly......and because of him, I will not see this. I was so anxious and happy when I heard of the production, alas with the inept Cage, I must pass.
