Ong Bak 3 Trailer

A brand new full-length trailer for Tony Jaa's Ong Bak 3 showed up on YouTube today (via SlashFilm) for those who are fans of this franchise that began as a cult hit back in 2003. We also featured an early teaser trailer for this movie back in January, but this new trailer looks a lot better than that first one. It starts out very brutal and violent (so watch out) but then gets back to the awesome fighting we all want to see. There are no subtitles but you can still get a good idea for what's going on. Although I have no clue who all these crazy supernatural people are or what they're doing, but it still looks badass. Check out the trailer below!

Watch the full-length trailer for Tony Jaa's Ong Bak 3:

Here's a synopsis for those a bit confused: "The legend of Ong Bak 3 begins after Tien (Tony Jaa) has lost his fighting skills and his beloved step-father at the Garuda’s Wing cliff from the raid led by Jom Rachan. Tien is brought back to life with the help from Pim as well as Mhen and the Kana Khone villagers. Deep into the meditation taught by Phra Bua, Tien finally is able to achieve 'Nathayut.' His talents are put to the test again when his rivals including the Golden-Armored King’s Guard, the mysterious killers in black, and Bhuti Sangkha return for the final massive showdown." The film was also directed by Tony Jaa. How'd it look?

ceirtainly creepier than ong-bak 2... and am still not getting how ong-bak 1 fits into all this... but i'll watch it regardless (ong-bak 1 will most likely remain the best though)

I agree that 1 was the best, it was understandable. 2, and now 3, get a little too crazy for my tastes. Does he get resurrected as a clay golem in this? I mean, Jaa's skills are supernatural enough, they don't really need to add any more of that into the story. I'll watch it anyway, just to witness more of the legend.

I guess the fact that all 3 movies are called Ong Bak is a little misleading, but understandable from a marketing standpoint. The first Onk Bak was just about a dude with crazy skills kicking people's ass in the city while 2 and 3 seem to go the fantasy route and are not connected to the first movie whatsoever. But the name is familiar and will most likely attract an audience. Whatever the case, it's not like anyone actually watches these movies for their interesting storyline or deep character development. I mean, don't we all just wanna watch Tony Jaa throw some knees to the face and break some bones? And that's really all these movies are about. They are showcasing Jaa's amazing martial arts skills. They just scribbled some little story around it so it doesn't end up as a "totally cool fight scenes" compilation. And that is absolutely fine with me. *karate chops*

This film looks good the fighting scense outstanding. This is a far better trailer than the first one. I never saw Ong Bak , I've seen Ong Bak 2. it will be a good watch if you are in to martial art films.
  • Number One Action in ThaiLand!!

so at some point, all the characters become zombies? this supernatural twist is kinda weird, i wonder whats it all about. subtitltes attack!!
  • SkyNet
Isn't ong bak supposed to be somewhat realistic? throwing sci-fi / fantasy into it just makes it all boring and re-hashed into a DBZ type movie
  • Klaus_Komix
@6 How can I trust you if you can't even spell guarantee correctly.
  • I understand why some of you don't see any connection between the first ong bak. But if some of you remember, the protector was ment to be the sequel to the first one. The way I look at it. These two are seperate movies all on their own. Because if you look at it, ong bak and the protecter actually make better since as a sequel. And of course Ong bak 2 and 3 now fallow together. They should have just called ong bak 1 the protector and then the protector 2. But whatever, still going to buy this movie. I can't wait to see tony take on the crow ghost. Tony Jaa vs Dan Chupong!!!!!

LOL @ Mike! Yeah, leave that elephant alone!!!

WRONG!!! The first Ong Bak was NOT about a dude with crazy skills. The first Ong Bak was about the STATUE'S head getting stolen from the village. These two Ong Bak movies are about HOW that STATUE gets it's significance. The drought in the first movie was alleviated when the STATUE'S head was rescued by Ting. It seems obvious to me that Tien from Ong Bak 2 and 3 is Ting's ancestor. DUH!

    crazy prequels then
  • nem
Cintilla nailed it just right, all you other retards seem to have gone to a higher level of retardation.
  • casey
lol at nem--- i also don't understand how you people are so confused at the story between these 3 movies being connected, you guys really are taking this to the highest level of retardation. Cintilla summed it up perfectly.
  • Jessguy12
All I can say is, what the fuck?
  • vic
hugely intense...the energy that this dude puts in his movies is ungodly.
  • Cintilla didn't sum up shit! lol. I just like the movies for what they are.......martial art movies.
  • i understand everything that @cintilla said..but i still love the first one..this movie is a different stuff than the first one..too much mystical things...well looks like fun but not a thai fight movie classic to me...

Previously posted comment on Tony Jaa's work. I inadvertently made a typo on Tony's last name. I and out clients are hughe fans, If he has not yet scored the film, our consortium of A list composers would jump at the opportunity.

#14 pretty much has it right as far as I know. The first movie was more about the statue of Ong Bak while the 2nd and 3rd is about the history of a legend I guess you could call it. The character from Ong Bok 1 could possibly be ancestor but I'm not sure if that is implied or not for sure. Also, this does seem more fantasy than the 2nd but it seems more like voodoo than pure fantasy. I am not familiar enough with Thai history but some of these things in the movie could be part of Thai folklore. We have seen much weirder historical characters and practices from many other cultures.

@ 2:06 it looks like Jaa is fighting Ozzy.
  • arjones
Dang! I have to see the first two so I can see this one!
  • cintilla
Btw, I just checked Ong Bak and Ong Bak 2. At the End of Ong Bak 2, they show a head shot of Tony Jaa sporting a beard. Behind him is a buddha statue with a scar carved over the left eyebrow. When the wheelchair boss in Ong Bak lifts up the head Ting wants back, it has that scar on its face. It's the same statue. So, Tien is Ting's ancestor, OR, Ting is Tien, and he's immortal.

The plots of all his movies are weird, but the fights are astounding.
  • GDamage
wtf? haha luv this guys style but the movie looks like s@#%! still thats just my opinion after viewing the trailer fight scenes look average compared to his past ventures but still i wish him much success only wish hollywood would take him to heights where they failed with chan and li whom they seemed to take interest in but only when they were too old
  • The first 2 were great (especially the first). Have no reason to believe this will be anything short of awesome.
