The Mechanic Trailer

Earlier today our friends at SlashFilm found the first (unofficial) promo trailer for The Mechanic starring Jason Statham. You've probably heard about this remake of a 1970's Charles Bronson hitman movie of the same name before today, but this is the first time we've seen any actual footage from it. It was produced by Nu Image / Millennium Films and it looks pretty badass. I love seeing Jason Statham in just about anything, but paired up with Ben Foster as two hitmen? I'm totally looking forward to this! Watch out though, as this trailer isn't MPAA approved and contains sex and violence. It's also a bit low res but it's the best we've got!

Watch the promo trailer for Simon West's The Mechanic:

An action-thriller centered on an assassin (Jason Statham) and a young man who becomes an apprentice.

The Mechanic is directed by British filmmaker Simon West, of memorable blockbusters like Con Air, The General's Daughter, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, and When a Stranger Calls. The screenplay was written by first-time feature writer Karl Gajdusek who's only other writing credit is for the TV show "Dead Like Me". This is a remake of The Mechanic from 1972 starring Charles Bronson and directed by Michael Winner. As far as we know, this Mechanic doesn't have a US distributor yet, but we'll let you know when/if it finds one!

I like Statham a lot. I'm looking foreword to the Expendable in August. the Machanic the original was good with Charles Bronson if this is in the same league it should be alright.

Agree with #4 Looks like the standard master trains apprentice, apprentice turns on master. Very Obi-Wan v Anakin/ Darth Vader

Yeeeah, whole movie was in the trailer. I mean you could clearly see Statham just disarm Foster which gives away the whole turning master part which clearly gives up the whole fucking plot and biggest twist of the movie. It looks like a good badass action movie but damn Im sick of spoiler filled trailers.

UNLESS! @10 Statham is training Foster to disarm at that point and they just used it because they wanted us to think that it's purely a master vs apprentice movie when in fact it's truely a master & apprentice vs a group of robotic ninja monkeys! Oooooo, the twists just keep on coming! ^__^

I dig Statham, but this doesnt look all good.
  • SuicidalOptimist
Statham is ok, but Ben Foster is awesome. He'll be the reason I am watching this. That way even if the movie turns out to be lame, I will still have something to go nuts over. /swoon
