Will Smith & Tommy Lee Jones Will Return for Men in Black 3D
The last time we heard about Men in Black 3, it was one of two potential projects that could become Will Smith's very next film. Though we still don't know if MiB3 will definitely be his next project, Showbiz411 caught up with franchise director Barry Sonnenfeld who told them that Smith is already signed on and, somewhat surprisingly, Tommy Lee Jones will be returning for the sequel which, as can be assumed with any upcoming blockbuster, will be in 3D. More than likely it'll be MiB3 that will take precedence as Sony recently lost Spider-M4n as their big Memorial Day 2011 movie, and this threequel would fit in there nicely.
Bringing Jones back is an interesting move considering that rumors surrounding Josh Brolin joining the franchise mentioned (SPOILERS) that Brolin may be in line to play a younger version of Agent K (Jones' character) in a storyline involving Will Smith's Agent J traveling back in time. But Brolin could just as easily be a new agent with Jones passing the baton and only making a brief appearance. Who knows? In addition to Brolin's potential casting, there's been rumblings of Sacha Baron Cohen and Jemaine Clement joining as a character named Yaz, who, given the unusual appearance of those two actors, is likely an alien. Either way, it sounds like MiB3 is really gearing up for production, so hopefully Smith will jump head first into the sequel.
