Darren Bousman's Thriller '11-11-11' is Currently Shooting in Spain
We've been remiss in posting any recent updates for Darren Bousman's new thriller 11-11-11 since it was first announced last year, but there's a whole bunch of new details out there, so I thought I'd get everyone back on track. Shooting is now underway on 11-11-11 because, as you've guessed, it's going to hit theaters on November 11th this year. Darren has been keeping a blog about production on his own website, but we've got a few more things to point out, like this very intriguing concept art on Twitch (which is used above and seen below) that reminds me of The Ruins meets Knowing, plus casting from Bloody-Disgusting. Read on!

'Primer's' Shane Carruth Also Working on Rian Johnson's 'Looper'
All things have been rather quiet on the Rian Johnson (director of Brick and The Brothers Bloom) front these days because he's been working on pre-production and shooting his latest feature film, a sci-fi time travel-filled flick called Looper starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Bruce Willis, Emily Blunt and Paul Dano. Johnson has, however, been running a Tumblr blog for the film and a Twitter that occasionally post updates and cool tidbits of news - like this! Yesterday he posted a photo of Primer director Shane Carruth on the set helping them out (see above) with a bit of confirmation: "Shane Carruth is working on Looper."

Fan-Made For Your Consideration: Daft Punk's 'Tron Legacy' Score
Though it's hard to top the fantastic soundtrack that Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross put together for The Social Network (which took home a Golden Globe last night and will surely get nominated for an Oscar), it was very disappointing that Daft Punk didn't get any love for their amazing work on the score for Tron Legacy. However, there's at least one more major chance for the musical duo to get some award love this season since the Academy Award nominations aren't announced until January 25th. Though Disney hasn't been making a big push for the Tron Legacy score, one fan has created his own Oscar campaign poster to promote Daft Punk's great work.

Summit Hires Writers Jon and Erich Hoeber to Pen 'RED' Sequel
Though it may not have won the Golden Globe for Best Comedy/Musical last night, Summit Entertainment's action comedy RED is far from a failure having raked in over $160 million worldwide. Since the studio is keen on spawning a new franchise as their precious Twilight Saga inches closer to the end, it's no surprise that Collider learned Summit has just brought back sibling writers Jon & Erich Hoeber to write a sequel to the successful action comedy. But the real question is whether Summit will be able to bring back Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, Helen Mirren and John Malkovich to try and capture the same magic.

Duncan Jones' 'Mute' Stalled But Homage to 'Blade Runner' is Next
Back in 2009, we heard that director Duncan Jones would follow his stellar debut film Moon with another sci-fi project called Mute (see the initial concept art here). Obviously, the filmmaker opted to make Source Code as his next project instead, and now we have a status update on the gestating film that was revealed almost two years ago. Apparently the project is currently in limbo and it will not be his next project this time either. In addition, while Mute was pegged to be in the same vein as Blade Runner, the project Jones will actually be tackling next is apparently another that will pay homage to Ridley Scott's sci-fi classic as well. Jones elaborates below.

Robert Downey Jr Leading Voice Cast of 'Mr. Peabody & Sherman'
Back in 2009 when DreamWorks Animation announced their upcoming slate of films through the year 2012, there was no word on the status of Mr. Peabody & Sherman, a feature length adaptation of the cartoon shorts that were a part of "The Rocky & Bullwinkle Show" cartoon series. Each installment followed a funny but educational journey as genius, bespectacled canine Mr. Peabody and his curious boy-sidekick Sherman would use the WABAC machine to travel through time and visit famous figures and events in history. Today brings some great news for the animated film as EW reports Robert Downey Jr. will voice the brilliant Mr. Peabody.

James Franco to Direct & Star in Adaptation of 'The Night Stalker'
Another day, another dollar and another project is added to the perpetually growing future slate of James Franco. Not only is Franco slated to co-host the Oscars with Anne Hathaway next month, but the actor has been making a play to write and/or direct more than a few new projects coming up. Now The NY Post has revealed Franco is apparently attached to direct and star in an adaptation of Philip Carlo's true crime story The Night Stalker. The book follows the exploits of Richard Ramirez, a Mexican-American serial killer who committed thirteen murders in the Los Angeles area in the mid-80's along with several other crimes.

Arnold Schwarzenegger Back to Acting in 'With Wings as Eagles'?
After being out of the acting game for years, action icon Arnold Schwarzenegger may soon find himself returning to the big screen. Since the Governator's final term ends this month, he will soon be just another out-of-work actor in California. However, his unemployment may not last long as The Arnold Fans (via ComingSoon) discovered a report from Krone.at that says Schwarzenegger is in the midst of considering three different scripts for his return. Though two of the potential projects remain a mystery, one such script is apparently a dramatic adventure called With Wings as Eagles from Braveheart screenwriter Randall Wallace.

Byung-hun Lee is Returning as Storm Shadow for 'G.I. Joe' Sequel
We'll be able to see him in Ji-woon Kim's bloody thriller I Saw the Devil (check out the first poster here) at the Sundance Film Festival very soon, but it looks like Byung-hun Lee (The Good, the Bad, the Weird) is heading back to blockbuster territory. THR says the Korean actor will reprise his role as Storm Shadow, the bad-ass, white clad ninja, for the sequel to 2009's summer tentpole G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra. There's no solid release date for the sequel, but it will apparently hit sometime in the summer of 2012. Apparently Byung-hun is slated to start filming in June, so the timeframe fits for the aforementioned release window.

Hilarious & Heartfelt Highlights from 2011 Golden Globe Awards
Last night brought the broadcast of the 68th Annual Golden Globe Awards. While the ceremony ended on schedule, at times the show felt like it lasted forever... Perhaps that's because, for whatever reason, our hilarious master of ceremonies, comedian Ricky Gervais, would inexplicably disappear for huge chunks of time. With his fierce wit and sarcasm, no one was safe from Gervais' comedic snark, and most of Hollywood took it in stride. Despite lacking more of Gervais humor there's still some hilarity to be seen, and those who were fortunate enough to win gave some great speeches to humbly accept their awards. Highlights below!

Golden Globe Awards 2011 Winners - 'The Social Network' Wins!
The winners of the HFPA's 68th Annual Golden Globe Awards, the precursor to the Academy Awards, were announced tonight at an exciting ceremony held at The Beverly Hilton hotel. We will be updating this list below with all of the film-related winners once they're announced during the ceremony's live broadcast. It's very tough to root for any one film this year because there are a lot of good ones (just look at Best Drama - Black Swan, Inception, The King's Speech, The Social Network), but I'm certainly curious to see who ends up winning. I'm not expecting any major upsets, but you never with the HFPA. Read on for the 2011 results!
