Lena Headey is the Villainous Ma-Ma in Pete Travis' Judge Dredd
She's already kicked-ass and fought Terminators as the titular character in "The Sarah Connor Chronicles", now it seems actress Lena Headey will be facing off against Karl Urban in director Pete Travis' Dredd the new adaptation of Judge Dredd. Apparently Bleeding Cool had heard rumblings of the casting before it turned up at a reliable Judge Dredd fansite, and Headey has already been shooting on the film for a week. So who's she playing? The actress is taking on the villainous role of Madeline Madrigal (aka Ma-Ma), the leader of a gang who over run the Peach Tree City Block where the majority of the action in it takes place.

Casting Tidbits: John Michael Higgins, Brendan Fraser & Tina Fey
You have part of my attention -- you have the minimum amount. The rest of my attention is back at the offices of Facebook, where my colleagues and I are doing things that no one in this room, including and especially your Casting Tidbits, are intellectually or creatively capable of doing. First, THR reports John Michael Higgins (A Mighty Wind) got a role in Cameron Crowe's adaptation of We Bought a Zoo, a memoir from Benjamin Mee, following a man (Matt Damon) and his family who move into a mansion that includes the 30-acre Dartmoor Wildlife Park, home to over 200 animals. Higgins will play a zoo inspector.

Looking Back: Marco's Picks for the Best & Worst Films of 2010
It's always a good feeling to take a second look at movies that inspired you throughout the year since that's what going to the movies is all about in the first place. To provide a joyful escape under a darkened theatre for two hours while the outside world drifts away. This is what good movies bring out in me, but bad movies are another matter entirely. Those are the kinds of experiences where I truly love my job because why else would I willingly subject myself to celluloid torture on a regular basis. In other words, a good movie is never long enough and a bad film is never short enough. Check out my lists of the Best & Worst of 2010 below!

French Teaser Poster for Marvel's 'Thor' Brings Color into the Mix
Yep, there is he again. I'm thinking that all this dark, brooding, epic-stance imagery is all we're going to see for Marvel's Thor in the way of posters and promo materials for the comic book movie. I don't think they can make giant cardboard standees out of Asgard, can they? Anyway, CloneWeb (via ComingSoon) got their hands on brand new French teaser poster for Thor featuring the God of Thunder/superhero himself, Chris Hemsworth, in yet another epic pose. Compared to the first US teaser poster, which was black & white and red-all-over, this one is full color and looks pretty damn cool. Another strong tease to keep hyping this up!

Check This Out: Creepy Poster for Indie Sci-Fi Horror Movie '51'
Since Paranormal Activity director Oren Peli's second found-footage film already took the title Area 51 (it's also mysteriously MIA in 2011), other similar horror flicks like this have to come up with something else. 51 is an indie horror opening in limited theaters in a few weeks from After Dark Originals. I've never heard about it before, but I usually haven't heard of most of those After Dark films. ShockTillYouDrop debuted the official poster and it's immensely creepy, which is why I thought a couple of you guys might get a kick out of seeing it. This actually stars Tron's Bruce Boxleitner, but he's not on the poster (or is he)? Check it out!

'Jonah Hex' or 'The Wolfman' Could End Up Winning an Oscar!?
There's probably someone out there who thinks drivel from 2010 like the sloppy comic book western Jonah Hex or the butchered monster movie revival The Wolfman deserves some real awards attentions. While it wouldn't be surprising if either of them took home more than a few Razzies, the fact is these two cinematic abominations have a damn good chance of winning an Academy Award. The phrase "Oscar-winning film Jonah Hex" just makes me feel dirty all over, and while a classic movie monster like The Wolfman deserves some respect, Joe Johnston's take on the story was a fiasco. So how are these two close to winning an Oscar?

American Society of Cinematographers Awards 2011 Nominees
Its been a hell of a year for cinematography, at least I thought. There were quite a few truly gorgeous films, but it's time to take a look at this year's nominees in the feature film category of the 25th Annual American Society of Cinematographers Outstanding Achievement Awards. The five nominees are: Black Swan's Matthew Libatique, Inception's Wally Pfister, The King's Speech's Danny Cohen, True Grit's Roger Deakins and The Social Network's Jeff Cronenweth. In the photo above is Libatique working on Black Swan. "These five people have set the standard for today's cinematography," said ASC's Richard Crudo.

Watch: Eerie Red Band Trailer for Indie Anthology 'Burning Palms'
Five stories that will mess you up for life. I don't know what this is and I really have no clue what is even going on, but it looks pretty frickin' wild, almost to the point where I'm actually kind of interested in seeing it. ShockTillYouDrop recently debuted a red band trailer for an indie anthology horror film called Burning Palms. I'd never heard of it before, but it has quite a cast for an indie: Zoe Saldana, Paz Vega, Jamie Chung, Rosamund Pike, Lake Bell, Shannen Doherty, Nick Stahl and even Dylan McDermott. But if you watch this - prepare to be freaked out. There's so much odd imagery! Nothing is what it seems...

Confirmed: Andy Serkis and Ian McKellen Return for 'The Hobbit'
In case you were somehow, in a state of udder madness, worried that Andy Serkis and Sir Ian McKellen, two central actors from the Lord of the Rings series (who we've confirmed numerous times before), wouldn't be returning for Peter Jackson's The Hobbit, you can finally rest easy because it's official. Deadline reports that Serkis is officially signed on to play Gollum (aka Smeagol once) again, performing the motion capture parts of the creature that Bilbo encounters. And THR has also confirmed that Sir Ian McKellen is officially signed and good to go as the lovable wizard Gandalf. Happy to hear that both will be back for The Hobbit!

Check This Out: Humongous New Promo Banner for 'Sucker Punch'
We've already seen at least two kick-ass trailers and more than a few sexy posters/banners for Zack Snyder's wild-looking genre mash-up Sucker Punch. There's even been a behind-the-scenes featurette that showed up not too long ago. Well, now we have an awesome new banner that features each of the five hard-ass ladies wielding guns and swords in each of the crazy worlds that they must fight through. I'm not sure if this will ever get released as a print for purchase, but it's one of the coolest promo banners I have seen in a long time. Personally, I can't wait to see this movie, so March 25th can't get here soon enough. Check this out below!

David Duchovny, Vera Farmiga and More Herded Up for 'Goats'
Though they've worked together before on the romance Return to Me, Variety reports David Duchovny and Minnie Driver are set to reunite for the indie comedy Goats, an adaptation of Mark Jude Poirier's novel of the same name. Joining them will be Vera Farmiga, Keri Russell and Will Arnett in the story of a teen (Graham Phillips) who transfers to the East Coast prep school where his father made his mark as a student. Duchovny plays the makeshift father figure known as Goat Man who's life isn't anything to swoon over, while Farmiga will play the teen's mother. Meanwhile Arnett will play the mother's boyfriend and Driver her best friend.
