Tim Burton & Josh Brolin Making a New 'Hunchback of Notre Dame'
With competing Snow White projects moving swiftly into production, yet another familiar tale is in the midst of a live-action big screen revival. THR reports director Tim Burton and actor Josh Brolin are working with Warner Bros. to develop a new take on The Hunchback of Notre Dame, the 1831 Victor Hugo novel of the same name. The original story followed Quasimodo, a deformed and hunchbacked bell-ringer of the Norte Dame cathedral who tragically falls in love with beautiful gypsy named Esmerelda. Apparently Brolin came up with the idea for the project, and while Burton is interested in directing, he's not formally attached just yet.

Alan Silvestri Now Set to Score 'Captain America: The First Avenger'
Earlier this month we heard brilliant Disney composer Alan Menken would be composing some sort of original music for Captain America: The First Avenger but it wouldn't be the film's score. At the same time rumors were floating around that Michael Giacchino, the man behind the music for films like Star Trek and The Incredibles, may step up to compose the score. Well today Film Music Reporter revealed that Alan Silvestri, composer for such films as Back to the Future and Forrest Gump, will be behind the music for Marvel's comic book adaptation. Around the same time last year, Silvestri's score for The A-Team could also be heard in theaters.

Quentin Tarantino Doing a Spaghetti Western with Christoph Waltz?
Now that Inglourious Basterds is two years old, audiences are wondering when writer/director Quentin Tarantino will deliver his next film. While we don't know exactly when his next film will see the light of day, we may very well know what that project is now. MoviePlayer (via The Playlist) discovered last week that Tarantino would be doing a spaghetti western with Franco Nero, Keith Carradine, Treat Williams and a whole bunch of unnamed actors. At the time, the film was said to be titled The Angel, the Bad and the Wise, but since then the title has been debunked and Christoph Waltz will also be taking part in the film.

Two Sleek Character Posters Revealed for Fox's 'X-Men: First Class'!

Bobby Farrelly Says a 'Dumb & Dumber' Sequel Could Be on the Way?
Their most recently comedy Hall Pass just hit theaters this past weekend, but Bobby Farrelly (along with his writing/directing partner and brother Peter Farrelly) have their eyes on the future. Their vision even surpasses the long gestating development of The Three Stooges which is still searching for a solid cast. Speaking with Moviehole, Bobby Farrelly revealed a trip back to the well may be in order in the form of a sequel to the 1994 comedy Dumb & Dumber starring Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels. The film would be the Farrelly brothers first sequel, and hopefully they'll just disregard Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd.

David O. Russell to Direct Will Smith in Modern Day Story About Job?
Last July we learned that Will Smith was looking to tackle another vampire story with the Biblically inspired story The Legend of Cain. Now it looks like another project with foundations in the Bible has caught the actor's eye. Movie B.S. (via Collider) caught up with writers Paul Tamasy and Eric Johnson (The Fighter) where they revealed a new project called Joe, a modern day re-telling of the story of the Biblical character Job. Apparently the writers sold it to Sony with Smith attached to play Joe and produce via his Overbrook Entertainment production banner. Oh, and David O. Russell may even end up directing this one too.

Daniel Day-Lewis & Viggo Mortensen Wanted for 'Superman' Roles?
Hopefully this doesn't become a trend after the recent talk of Kevin Costner taking a role in Superman: The Man of Steel came to light, but a couple more names have apparently popped up on Warner Bros. radar as potential cast additions to Zack Snyder's comic book adaptation. Keep in mind that these actors aren't even in talks and their potential involvement should be taken with a grain of salt at this point. First up, Heat Vision reports Viggo Mortensen (The Lord of the Rings) is to play villain General Zod in the flick, while Moviehole seems to have heard that Daniel Day-Lewis (There Will Be Blood) is desired for an unspecified role.

'13 Going on 30' Director and Indie Proucer Gary Winick Dies at 49
Hollywood had a big night last night, but sad news follows as IFC News independent film producer Gary Winick has passed away at the young age of 49. Sadly his passing was too late for his name to end up on the traditional "In Memoriam" montage honoring those talents Hollywood lost within the past year. Matt Dentler from Cinetic announced the sad news via Twitter saying, "Gary Winick died today. Too late to make the Oscars tribute, but way too early. He leaves behind a legacy of supporting indie film and NYC." While his work behind the camera may be better known to general audiences, his work in independent film is certainly inspiring. More below.

Check Out the Badass Painted Poster for Quentin Dupieux's 'Rubber'
Okay this is just awesome! Well, we've seen the fantastic trailer, so leading up to its release in a month or two, Magnet has debuted this killer official poster for the film that was painted by designers Boris Vallejo & Julie Bell (you can see more of their work here).
