Watch: Behind-the-CGI-Scenes for the Winklevoss Twins from 'TSN'

Winklevoss Twins of The Social Network

If you didn't already know, the Winklevoss Twins in David Fincher's The Social Network were played by two actors - Armie Hammer and Josh Pence. But it was only Armie who got his face in the movie, as Fincher used CGI like in Benjamin Button to put Hammer's face on both performances. Though the amazing DVD/Blu-Ray is already out and packed with special features and making of docs, Vulture posted a behind-the-scenes video (about 5 mins) that shows the work that Fincher, Pence and Hammer put into pulling off the Winklevii. It's great to see with only 13 days left until the Oscars. Looks like it was lots of tedious work!

Fred Durst to Direct 'Pawn Shop Chronicles' Starring Paul Walker

Fred Durst

If you haven't seen The Longshots or The Education of Charlie Banks, then you may not be aware that Limp Bizkit lead singer Fred Durst became a film director. Now the rocker turned filmmaker has landed his next project as THR reports the European Film Market has seen the unveiling of Pawn Shop Chronicles, a thriller which Durst will direct. In addition Paul Walker (The Fast and the Furious, Running Scared) will star in the film which has multiple interconnected stories centered around a missing wedding ring which leads to a wild-goose chase involving meth addicts, skinheads and an Elvis impersonator. That sounds like a big bag of crazy to me.

New Picture & Official Title for Marc Webb's 'Spider-Man' Revealed!

Spider-man

We've made it loud and clear that we're not posting any of the amateur set photos from Sony's Spider-Man franchise reboot from director Marc Webb. However, when Sony sends out an official press release revealing that the film has officially been dubbed The Amazing Spider-Man along with another great high quality picture of Spider-Man completely suited up this time, we'll pay attention. Though the first gritty image gave us a good look of Andrew Garfield in this new suit, Spidey was still unmasked and merely standing. This new photo has our friendly neighborhood wallcrawler masked and ready to sling webs and swing into action.

'The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman' Casts Zac Efron Now

Zac Efron

Last April we heard that Shia LaBeouf was starring in The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman, a new action thriller that would have marked the directorial debut of commercials director Dante Ariola. However, LaBeouf is no longer going to be in the film, so The Playlist reports the Zac Efron will step up to star in the story of a boy who meets a girl in Europe only to find out that she has an insanely violent crime boss for a boyfriend. But since love knows no bounds, Charlie keeps taking punches just to win over the girl of his dreams and keep her safe. In addition, apparently Ariola is no longer directing the project either.

'Inception' Cinematographer Wally Pfister Wins ASC Film Award

Wally Pfister / Inception

It would be hard to enjoy the visual medium of motion pictures without the fine people behind the camera to make film look so damn good. Over the weekend the American Society of Cinematographers honored those responsible for lensing some of the finest looking films of 2010 at the 25th annual ASC Outstanding Achievement Awards. THR reports that Wally Pfister won the feature film category for his phenomenal work on Chris Nolan's mind-bending Inception. This marks the 3rd time Pfister has been nominated after his work with Nolan on Batman Begins and The Dark Knight garnered ASC nominations as well, but no win.

Director Joe Dante in the Mood for Some Romantic 'Monster Love'

Joe Dante

Love triangles have been brewing between werewolves, vampires and/or humans in The Twilight Saga, but now a more respectable name involved with monsters and horror films is stepping into the arena. Shock Til You Drop reports director Joe Dante, the man who brought us Gremlins, is working on a horror comedy romance. Yes the filmmaker is now crafting Monster Love, the story of a werewolf and a vampire falling in love and igniting a war between their monstrous societies. Apparently pre-production is already underway with the monster influenced Romeo and Juliet-eqsue script coming from Greg Pak (Planet Hulk). Read on!

First Look: Antonio Banderas in Jean-Jacques Annaud's 'Black Gold'

Antonio Banderas in Black Gold

It's not much to see, but we finally have at least one solid photo of Antonio Banderas in one of my more increasingly anticipated films to see this year - Jean-Jacques Annaud's Black Gold. It's another film about oil, but this time set in the 1930s Arab states at the dawn of the oil boom and focused on an Arab prince torn between allegiance to his conservative father and modern, liberal father-in-law. The cast also includes some other big names like Mark Strong, Freida Pinto and Un Prophete's Tahar Rahim. I've even heard it described as a bit like Lawrence of Arabia meets There Will Be Blood, and it definitely looks like it could be that good.

Marion Cotillard in Talks for a Role in Nolan's 'Dark Knight Rises'

Marion Cotillard

So it looks like it's pretty much confirmed. Over the weekend I found some old fan-art made after TDK for the next "sequel" that had Anne Hathaway playing Batgirl - lo and behold that sort of turned out to be true. One of the other names listed in the fictional credits was Marion Cotillard, the lovely French actress who plays Cobb's crazy wife in Inception (and won an Oscar for La Vie en Rose). Over this past weekend, French newspaper Le Figaro reported that Cotillard had been cast in The Dark Knight Rises, quite big news. But we wanted to wait for extra confirmation and THR now has it. Her reps confirm she that is "in discussions."

Roland Emmerich Gives Brief, Bleak Updates on 'ID2' & 'Foundation'

Roland Emmerich

Though we've still got seven months left until Roland Emmerich's epic story of the "origin" of Shakespeare, Anonymous, hits theaters in late September, there are a few other projects the German megamind should be spending his time on. One of which is Independence Day 2 (and 3), that last we heard about a year ago in a report claiming that two back-to-back sequels might be coming soon, but it was dependent on Will Smith, who went on to shoot Men in Black 3 this year. Well, Empire caught up with Emmerich and got new updates on ID2 as well as the Foundation series he's adapting and neither one are doing too good at the moment.

FilmDistrict is Releasing 'Don't Be Afraid of the Dark' This August

Don't Be Afraid of the Dark

Briefly: It was announced (via Deadline) that Peter Schlessel & Bob Berney's new company FilmDistrict will be releasing Troy Nixey's Don't Be Afraid of the Dark, the Guillermo del Toro-produced horror-thriller with Katie Holmes, Guy Pearce and Bailee Madison. They'll be releasing the film starting on August 12th at the tail end of this summer. Most may remember that this was originally scheduled for January, but Disney's sale of Miramax put the film on hold until further notice - here's that notice! You can still watch the first freaky teaser trailer for Don't Be Afraid of the Dark, so fire that up as we've got six more months to go!

Review: 'The Eagle' Doesn't Ever Live Up to Its Legendary Potential

The Eagle Review

There's a lot of give and take when it comes to words over images. Sometimes words can be tedious, banal exposition whose only presence is for the sake of conveying information to its audience. On the other hand, words can have great power, explaining something that may not need to be seen, building up an idea into legendary status until what is in the viewer's mind is far greater than anything a director can actually put on screen. The Eagle, the new film from The Last King of Scotland director Kevin MacDonald, has a hard time balancing these two sides of the expository coin. The idea of the Eagle is there, a golden eagle carried
