Check This Out: Another Nifty Poster for 'The Adjustment Bureau'

The Adjustment Bureau Poster

Your Future... One of the first big films I'm excited to see this spring is the Philip K. Dick adaptation The Adjustment Bureau, which was delayed from last year and hasn't had much buzz these last few months. Well, Latino Review (via HeyUGuys) just posted this rather impressive new outdoor poster - for their final marketing push - which you can see below. It's kind of a mix between Bourne, cause of Matt Damon, and some sci-fi-ish minimalism, I like it a lot, definitely much better than that awful shadowy poster before. I haven't heard many early reviews, give or take a few twitter mentions, but I'm still looking forward to this.

Andrew Garfield Cast in Adaptation of Tawni O'Dell's 'Back Roads'

Andrew Garfield / Back Roads

One of our favorite actors right now is Andrew Garfield, who sadly didn't receive an Oscar nom when he should have (for The Social Network), but is playing Peter frickin' Parker anyway, so it really doesn't matter. Variety reports that Garfield has been cast in an adaptation of Tawni O'Dell's bestselling novel Back Roads that Infinity Media is developing. Adrian Lyne (Fatal Attraction, Jacob's Ladder, Unfaithful) is directing from a script he co-wrote with O'Dell. Beyond only Garfield, this Pennsylvania-set murder mystery will also star Jennifer Garner and Marcia Gay Harden. Quite a cast they've got for this. Shooting starts in June.

'Twilight' Writer Melissa Rosenberg to Script a 'Highlander' Remake

This is bound to rub plenty of fans the wrong way, but don't shoot the messenger. Summit Entertainment has been working on a remake of the fantasy film Highlander with producer Neal H. When the rights were picked up, a script followed by Art Marcum and Matt Holloway (two of the writers of Iron Man) with revisions by Cormac and Marianne Sellek Wibberley (the duo behind National Treasure). Rooney Mara Cast in 'Emanuel and the Truth About Fishes' Project

Rooney Mara

We've already seen a fair share of buzzworthy photos featuring Rooney Mara (The Social Network) in wardrobe and make-up for David Fincher's new adaptation of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Now the young actress will be taking a lower profile as The Playlist has learned Mara will star in Emanuel and the Truth About Fishes. The film has the actress working again with director Francesca Gregorini who directed Mara in Tanner Hall. Gregorini also wrote the film herself which tells the story of a young, troubled woman who becomes obsessed with her mysterious new neighbor who looks uncannily like her dead mother.

Marvel is Considering Shane Black to Write and Direct 'Iron Man 3'!

Shane Black / Iron Man

Whoa! As we know because he confirmed it himself last year, Jon Favreau won't be back to direct any more Marvel movies. Instead, he's going to Disney's Magic Kingdom. So who is going to take his place on the Iron Man franchise? Well, Heat Vision just ran an article saying that Shane Black, screenwriter and director of Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, is "in contention" to write and direct Iron Man 3 for Marvel Studios. But don't start celebrating yet. "Insiders said that Black's involvement is far from a sure thing, and that other writers and directors were being looked at." If I can say, it would be pretty awesome to see Shane Black tackle Iron Man.

DreamWorks Nabs J. Michael Straczynski's 'Voices from the Dead'

Houdini / Doyle

Though you might be more familiar with his work in comic books and TV, writer J. Michael Straczynski jumped to films with The Changeling in 2008. Though he's worked on projects like a remake of Forbidden Planet and an adaptation of World War Z, those projects haven't made much progress over the past couple years. Now THR says DreamWorks has picked up the writer's original screenplay Voices from the Dead, a story that sees real-life friends magician Harry Houdini and Sherlock Holmes creator Arthur Conan Doyle in a fictional story where they team up with a psychic to solve bizarre murders in 1920's New York.

Willow Smith / Ryan Murphy

You may remember reading the news a couple of weeks ago that Will Smith's daughter Willow Smith was looking to enter the acting game with a remake of Annie, the 1977 Broadway musical about a spunky little orphan girl who desperately wants to find her parents. Yes, there was quite a commotion, but Deadline has even more news to shake things up. Apparently Sony's top choice for a director is Ryan Murphy, the Glee co-creator who's soaking up the Hollywood fame because the show is such a hit. Second Official Trailer for Illumination's 'Hop' with James Marsden

Hop Trailer

Meet "E.B." Universal recently unveiled the new theatrical trailer on Apple for Hop, their upcoming Easter Bunny live-action-plus-CGI-bunny movie starring Russell Brand as the (voice of the) adorable lil' bunny. Our first introduction to this involved the rabbit playing a drumset, leaving everyone confused, but now we get a look at the live-action world and story and, I'm still not that impressed. The remaining cast includes: James Marsden as the guy named Fred who takes him in, plus: Kaley Cuoco, Elizabeth Perkins, Chelsea Handler and Hugh Laurie. This is worth watching just for the crazy concept, but beyond that, it's up to you.

John Turturro Joins 'Cars 2' as Lightning McQueen's Racing Rival

John Turturro / Francesco Bernoulli

Since many of us have forgotten about the dreadful live-action/stop-motion animated movie Monkeybone, you may not remember that John Turturro was the voice of the titular mischievous monkey. Thankfully, he's now putting his vocal talents to much better use as Disney has revealed via SlashFilm that the actor is voicing a pivotal character in this summer's Pixar sequel Cars 2. Though he's had plenty of experience with transforming cars, this time Turturro will be dealing with a slew of race cars as he'll be voicing Francesco Bernoulli, an Italian racecar who becomes Lightning McQueen's chief European rival. More video below!
