Watch: Great Trailer for Spike Jonze & Arcade Fire's New Short Film

Scenes from the Suburbs

The average listener may not have known much about the indie rock band Arcade Fire before their Album of the Year win at the Grammys not too long ago, but the Internet was in quite an uproar about the victory. Meanwhile, we've been fans for awhile, and loved band members Régine Chassagne and Win Butler's score for Richard Kelly's The Box even if Arcade Fire as a whole wasn't involved. And now we have a film project of theirs to look forward to with a trailer for Scenes from the Suburbs, a short film written by Butler and Chassagne and directed by Spike Jonze, the man behind films like Being John Malkovich and Adaptation. Watch below!

Clifton Collins Jr Cast in J.T. Petty's Supernatural Film 'Hellbenders'

Clifton Collins Jr.

Another supernatural project. Variety reports that character actor Clifton Collins Jr., seen in everything from Crank 2 to Babel to Abrams' Star Trek to Extract to Brothers and even The Boondock Saints II, is set to star in a new project called Hellbenders from filmmaker J.T. Petty. I've been following Petty ever since seeing his western-horror film The Burrowers, as he's a great filmmaker with a lot of potential. Petty wrote the Hellbenders screenplay, that's about a secret group of elite demonologists in a Brooklyn diocese who battle a terrifying supernatural force that threatens their lives and faith. Sounds like it could be interesting.

Three Character Posters Arrive for Medieval Comedy 'Your Highness'

Your Highness

We've already seen the official trailer for the hilarious looking medieval comedy Your Highness, but the red band trailer really brings the funny (not to mention one very special shot of Natalie Portman). Now we have three character banners to add to the hype machine as the film gears up for its April 8th theatrical release. They're simple, but the poster featuring Danny McBride takes the cake and clearly shows why this film is really called Your Highness. In addition James Franco puts on his best hero face while Portman just looks as beautiful as always. Can't wait to check out this flick, and you can check out the posters below.

Alex Pettyfer and Josh Hutcherson Both Up for 'The Hunger Games'

Alex Pettyfer / Josh Hutcherson

We've just heard that Jennifer Lawrence is the likely candidate to take on the lead role in the anticipated adaptation of The Hunger Games, but fans are still eager to hear who will play the lead male love interest role of Peeta. Well, a couple of names have surfaced over the past week with Josh Hutcherson (The Kids Are All Right) and Alex Pettyfer (I Am Number Four) have already had meetings about taking the role, but it sounds like there's likely just as many names in contention as there were for the role of Katniss Everdeen. Pettyfer hasn't read a script, but has met with producers, while Hutcherson may be in deeper.

Theatrical 'On Stranger Tides' Poster Features Heroic Jack Sparrow

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides

We just recently got a look at a pretty cool banner featuring Jack Sparrow looking like a highseas gangster with both pistols drawn, but now the infamous pirate is taking a heroic stance at the forefront of the official theatrical poster for Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. We've already seen a couple trailers for the fourth installment of the series, but this is the first bit of print marketing that features some of the lovely mermaids lounging on some rocks in the background as a pirate ship burns in the distance. Sure it's a standard glossy and obviously photoshopped poster, but I know some of you will love it. Enjoy!

Shane Abbess to Helm 'Source Code' Writer's Sci-Fi Thriller '7th Day'

Shane Abbess

Though he hasn't helmed a feature film since the 2007 action fantasy Gabriel, director Shane Abbess now has another directing gig lined up. Variety reports the filmmaker is set to direct 7th Day, a new sci-fi thriller from Source Code writer Ben Ripley. The writer and director spawned the original story on their own which follows a voyage to establish a new colony in outer space. producer Martha De Laurentiis (of Dino De Laurentiis Company) says, "We are always looking for young, inspiring filmmakers wanting to tell a unique, high-concept story, and after meeting Shane, I decided to immediately snap the property off the market."

Casting Tidbits: Brendan Fraser, Michelle Rodriguez & Hayley Atwell

Fraser / Rodriguez / Atwell

We are Sex Bob-Omb and we are here to make you think about Casting Tidbits and get sad and stuff! First up, Variety reports Brendan Fraser will star in the heist comedy Whole Lotta Sole from director Terry George (Hotel Rwanda). Thomas Gallagher also wrote the script with the director which follows a young man robbing a fish shop in order to pay off a gambling debt. But of course the heist goes terribly with humorous results and turns into a hostage situation. Fraser will portray the shopkeeper, who's on the run from his gangster father-in-law. Well, I guess anything is better than another piece of junk like Furry Vengeance hitting theaters.

Ron Underwood Directing a Ski Team Comedy Called 'Woodchucks'

Hot Dog... The Movie

Its been quite a while since we've seen a skiing comedy, yet another one is finally in the works. THR reports veteran director Ron Underwood will be directing a ski team comedy called Woodchucks this upcoming ski season in Vermont. Underwood, an "avid skier", has directed movies like Tremors, City Slickers, Mighty Joe Young and The Adventures of Pluto Nash, which is when his career pretty much died; he's only done TV since. But he's ready to make a return. "It's been a long time since Downhill Racer, and while Woodchucks is certainly a lighter tone, it has the makings of the first exciting narrative ski movie in a long time," he says.

Watch: Wayne Wang's 'Snow Flower and the Secret Fan' Full Trailer

Snow Flower and the Secret Fan Trailer

"Experience an extraordinary friendship that is strong enough to last lifetimes." Fox Searchlight unveiled the official US trailer on Apple for the domestic release of Wayne Wang's new film Snow Flower and the Secret Fan, based on Lisa See's bestselling novel, starring Gianna Jun and Li Bing Bing. I'll be frank - this is pretty much a chic flick about two "sisters" and parallel storylines, one set in contemporary Shanghai, the other in 19th Century China. It looks like it has great production values and will be a gorgeous film, but not many guy's will be that interested in seeing it. That said, you never know? Check out the full trailer below!

Check This Out: Ellen Page's Badass Poster for James Gunn's 'Super'

Ellen Page - Super

"She'll totally f**king beat evil." I think that may be tagline of the year! Another new poster featuring Ellen Page as The Crimson Bolt's badass sidekick "Boltie", who actually does some damage, has debuted on their film's Facebook page. A couple of weeks back we featured the hilarious/awesome official trailer for Super directed by James Gunn, starring Rainn Wilson as well as, obviously, Ellen Page, Liv Tyler, Kevin Bacon and Michael Rooker. This is the second poster following the red face of Crimson Bolt. It's great to see them continuing this design, but they don't really have anyone else they can do this. Anyway, check it out below!

Jennifer Lawrence Will Likely End Up Leading 'The Hunger Games'

Hunger Games / Jennifer Lawrence

Earlier this month we heard about quite a lengthy list of young actresses in contention to take the strong lead female role of Katniss Everdeen in the forthcoming adaptation of The Hunger Games from director Gary Ross. Among them were Oscar nominees like Abigail Breslin, Saoirse Ronan and newcomer Hailee Steinfeld. However, it appears it will be the another young Oscar nominated actress taking the role as Variety reports Jennifer Lawrence (Winter's Bone) is about to get an offer to take on the anticipated adaptation from Lionsgate. Nothing is official yet, but it seems likely that Lawrence's casting will be announced very soon.

Marisa Tomei and Sarah Jessica Parker Are 'Married and Cheating'

FILL

She's already had plenty of romantic adventures in New York and Paris in both the Sex and the City films and series, but now Sarah Jessica Parker is taking on an indie comedy which follows romance in both the locations. Variety reports Parker and Marisa Tomei (The Wrestler) will both star in Married and Cheating, a film that follows three married couples struggling to find happiness. Raymond De Felitta, who most recently helmed the overlooked, but mostly enjoyable dysfunctional family comedy City Island is set to write & direct. Apparently the deals are completely done yet, but both actresses are expected to close soon.
