Check These Out: Charming Illustrations of 'Ghostbusters' and More

Ghostbusters Illustrated

Late last year we directed your attention towards some cute little illustrations from the Star Wars universe in the form of a book intended to help teach geek children the ABC's. Now we have some new artwork that geeks will love, even if it's not necessarily educational for their kids. However, the illustrations from Deviant Artist Christopher Lee (no, not the actor) are just as kid friendly, and they feature some really cool versions of some of your favorite characters including RoboCop, Spider-Man , all of the Ghostbusters and even adorable versions of twisted genre characters like Predator, Shredder and more. See them below!

Jason Statham is 'Parker' in Taylor Hackford's New Film Noir Thriller

Jason Statham

Since his 2010 film Love Ranch starring Joe Pesci went largely unnoticed, director Taylor Hackford (Ray) looks to be putting his talents to work on a film more appealing to general audiences. Variety reports the filmmaker will direct a new thriller called Parker, and Jason Statham (Crank, The Transporter) is in negotiations to star in the film as well. Based on series of novels by Donald Westlake, the story follows a thief who, though at times is forced to be a killer, still lives by a code of honor that includes never stealing money from people who need it. His word is his bond, and if he is crossed he will strike back. Read on!

Five Great New 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2' Photos

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

It's almost here! Only... 3 months to go! Warner Bros has released a small series of new photos for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, the extremely highly anticipated and epic finale to the Potter franchise. We're still waiting on the trailer, though I've heard there should be one coming in the next few weeks, fingers crossed. Entertainment Weekly (via SlashFilm) debuted a few of these photos (as designated) and the rest come from WB via FB. My excitement level for this movie is already through the roof, it's going to be an incredible day when July 15th rolls around. Check out Draco, Neville, Voldemort and others below!

Review: 'The Beaver' is Darkly Funny, Strikingly Poignant, Fantastic

The Beaver

The concept of a man in the middle of a mid-life crisis taking the initiative to use a "prescription puppet" in the form of a beaver to re-connect with his family and get back control of his life sounds like it's made for a straight-up silly comedy. Hell, at one time Steve Carell and director Jay Roach were once slated to bring this story to the big screen before making Dinner for Schmucks. However, calling Jodie Foster's new film The Beaver simply a comedy would be careless, inaccurate, even disrespectful. This film is a masterpiece that not only pulls at your heartstrings, but will have you reflecting on your life long after leaving the theater.

Must Watch: Morgan Spurlock: The Greatest TEDTalk Ever Sold Video

Morgan Spurlock's The Greatest TED Talk Ever Sold

Documentarian/filmmaker Morgan Spurlock really seems to be having fun with the whole "meta" aspect of his new film The Greatest Movie Ever Sold, as he's extending it everywhere. Spurlock hosted a 20 minute presentation at the recent TED 2011 event and titled it "The Greatest TED Talk Ever Sold", mostly because he actually sold the name rights online. Genius. Last week we featured Roger Ebert's fantastic TEDTalk, so today I'm featuring Spurlock's TEDTalk, as it's fun, brilliant, insightful and just entertaining to watch. Plus, FirstShowing.net has a cameo, as my review is shown on screen at the end (see it here!). Enjoy!

Indie Trailer Sunday: Hotel Room Anthology Feature 'Do Not Disturb'

Do Not Disturb Trailer

Five Directors. Five Stories. One Room. No it's not another Buried or Saw, but it is a unique indie worth checking out. Today's trailer is for an anthology film called Do Not Disturb put together and conceived by producer Mali Elfman. Warner Premiere is releasing Do Not Disturb straight-to-VOD this summer, but I'm breaking our rules to feature this not only because I'm friends with Mali, but because I've seen this and it's great project with some unique shorts that form an entertaining film overall. Each director was given a brief synopsis, eight rules to follow, and one day on set to create their film. And Do Not Disturb is the result.

Brad Bird Chats About 'Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol' & '1906'

Brad Bird

We haven't heard much from director Brad Bird in quite a while, nor we have seen a trailer yet for the new Mission Impossible (though I did see some footage and heard one is coming in May), but that changes today as Entertainment Weekly has posted an interview with Bird in honor of the recent stunning release of one of his other greats, The Incredibles on Blu-Ray ($25 on Amazon - worth it). But they did slip in a few questions about Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol, which stars Tom Cruise, Jeremy Renner and Paula Patton, as well as one quick update on 1906, that San Francisco earthquake project he's been developing for years.

Must Watch: Full Trailer for Jim Mickle's Vampire Movie 'Stake Land'

Stake Land Trailer

"Welcome to Stake Land, kid." IFC Midnight has finally unveiled the official trailer for Stake Land, the gory indie vampire horror movie I've been talking about since Toronto last year. Written and directed by American filmmaker Jim Mickle, Stake Land is about a kid (Connor Paolo) who, lost in the ravaged world that is Stake Land, joins up with a grizzled, wayward hunter named Mister (Nick Damici) who takes him on as his apprentice in killing vampires. Yep, it brings back angry, gory vampires, and it's fantastic movie, too. Can't suggest it enough, I hope this trailer gets your attention, it's one of my fave horror movies of the year.

Sound Off: Wes Craven's New 'Scream 4'- So What Did You Think?

Wes Craven's Scream 4

Now that you've seen it, what did you think? "Do you like scary movies?" That's how it all began back in 1996 when Drew Barrymore picked up the phone before becoming the first victim of the iconic Ghostface Killer. Arriving in theaters this weekend is Scream 4, again written and directed by Kevin Williamson and Wes Craven, the team behind the first three. Its been 11 years since the last Scream, but they even got David Arquette, Neve Campbell and Courteney Cox back again. So how is it? Does it live up to the other movies? How is the end? If you've seen it, write a comment and let us know what you thought of Scream 4!

Buzz: Michael Bay's 'Transformers 3' Sounds Like it Will Be Awesome

Transformers 3

Hold onto your hats, this might get a 'lil heated. Even bigger than ever before giant effin' robots are coming! Though we haven't seen anything more than the great Super Bowl spot and last year's teaser trailer, a few lucky folks were shown 20 minutes of footage from Michael Bay's Transformers: Dark of the Moon and apparently it looks quite awesome. Paramount hosted an editing room presentation with Michael Bay, which we were not invited to, where they saw a few action scenes (some in 3D) that blew them away. Could it be possible?! Could Transformers 3 actually be really good? At least it seems like it'll be a visual spectacle!

Exclusive: 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes' Director Rupert Wyatt Q&A

Rupert Wyatt - Rise of the Planet of the Apes

Our greatest discovery will become our greatest threat. I've been following director Rupert Wyatt ever since seeing his break-out film The Escapist at Sundance years ago. When he got the job to direct Rise of the Apes, I was excited because I knew it would be an undertaking but as a fan of his style, I knew he would deliver something great. Here we are in 2011 and the teaser trailer for Rise of the Planet of the Apes has been unveiled. I first met up with Rupert on the set of the movie last year, but spoke with him yesterday in hopes of answering any questions that have come up recently. So I present my first Q&A with Rupert Wyatt!
