Disney and Pixar Unveil Big, Beautiful New 'Cars 2' Triptych Banner

Cars 2

When it comes to this summer's animated sequel Cars 2 from Disney and Pixar, we've seen tons of promotional material from like the full theatrical trailer, a kick-ass vintage James Bond-like poster, and even a strange used car dealership viral video. Now a beautiful new triptych poster has just made its way online over at the official Apple trailer page for the film (via ComingSoon), and it's just as stunning as the Tron Legacy triptych we saw last year. Honestly, even though Cars is my least favorite of Pixar's films, the sequel looks like a fun Hitchcockian case of mistaken identity with a bit of classic Bond action thrown in.

A Batch of Disheveled Character Posters for 'The Hangover Part II'

The Hangover Part II

We just saw the hilarious but familiar trailer for the anticipated comedy sequel The Hangover Part II, and with the film's release just over a month away, the marketing machine is on fire with some new posters featuring six of the signature characters. The whole wolf pack, including Zach Galifianakis, Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, even Justin Bartha, is back looking stressed and disheveled along with an excited Ken Jeong and that damn monkey. I'm not sure why Bartha is so prominent with his poster since the trailer made it seem like he's not caught up in the Bangkok shenanigans. We'll find out next month, I guess.

Watch: Peter Jackson's First Wonderful Video Blog for 'The Hobbit'

Peter Jackson on The Hobbit

Ohhh now this is just wonderful! To top off the great reveal of Weta's Rise of the Planet of the Apes, another fun Weta reveal has arrived this morning. Peter Jackson posted his very first 10-minute long video blog from the set and production offices of The Hobbit. It comes from his official Facebook (embed via AD). Yes, it has Ian McKellen in it (aww man), yes it has fighting and LOTR music, yes it has Martin Freeman as Bilbo, yes it just brings a warmth to my heart watching this because it's so amazing to see this team together finally shooting this and being so open about all of it. I totally love it. Please, dive into this!

Arousing First Trailer for Julia Leigh's Cannes Film 'Sleeping Beauty'

Sleeping Beauty Trailer

"Such a pleasure to see such a unique beauty." Ohhh this ain't Zack Snyder's Emily Browning anymore! It was announced today that one of the 49 films in the 64th Cannes Film Festival selection is the feature debut of author Julia Leigh, a film called Sleeping Beauty. I stumbled across this trailer thanks to my friend @IONCinema who tweeted out a link to the trailer via the Australian website. But oh just wait, this is quite something to behold. It's just Emily Browning playing a high end prostitute, and watch out there's a little nudity so it's NSFW, but man does this look unbelievably intriguing. You must check out this trailer now.

It was previously announced that Woody Allen's Midnight in Paris would be opening the fest, but there's plenty of other treats like The Tree of Life, Drive and We Need To Talk About Kevin. Full list below!

Must Watch: First Teaser Trailer for 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes'!

Rise of the Planet of the Apes Teaser Trailer

Apes Will Rise! Fox has unveiled the teaser trailer on Apple for Rise of the Planet of the Apes, a new prequel in the beloved Planet of the Apes sci-fi series. Just yesterday, WETA revealed their first look at the movie, as they're doing all of the CGI rendering on every ape, including Caesar, played by Andy Serkis. Now we have our first tease of what to expect and it looks really, really good. I'm intrigued by how realistic all of the apes are, compared to the men-in-suit of the classic films, but the emotion on Caesar's face is what makes me feel like this will be amazing. This was only just a teaser, but I'm definitely looking forward to it!

George Clooney to Produce and Potentially Direct '$700 Billion Man'

Wall Street / George Clooney

He's already tackled McCarthyism and the fear of socialism with one of my favorite films, Good Night and Good Luck, now George Clooney may take on a more contemporary topic sometime soon. Variety reports Clooney will team with his producing partner Grant Heslov to make The $700 Billion Man, a(nother) project about the Wall Street bailout. Based on a 2009 Washington Post article, the story follows TARP mastermind Neel Kashkari, a top official for then-Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson, who developed the $700 billion Troubled Asset Relief Program, which bailed out the big banks after the '08 economic collapse.

Another New Poster for Lone Scherfig's Upcoming Drama 'One Day'

One Day

Twenty years. Two people... Though I already really admire the official poster they released for this back in February, this new poster is pretty classy, too. Empire debuted a new set of posters (one's a UK quad, other is regular size) for Lone Scherfig's One Day, the upcoming romantic drama starring Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess. I'm pretty excited to "one day" see this, just because it looks like it'll be really good, and I think Lone Scherfig is a talent on the rise. This reminds me of 500 Days of Summer but with it's own catch with meeting each other once a year and these are the snapshots, how charming. Check out the new poster!

Michael C. Hall and Vera Farmiga Need Some 'Love, Scotch & Death'

Michael C. Hall / Vera Farmiga

The praise and accolades for the bloody fantastic Showtime series "Dexter" did wonders for actor Michael C. Hall, and now he and the series creator James Manos Jr. are collaborating on a project for the big screen. Deadline reports the duo will team up for an indie called Love, Scotch and Death that features Hall playing a character based on Manos himself as he endured a stressful week filled with unimaginable mishaps. The film will also have the talents of Vera Farmiga who has also been cast as well. Manos used to call the screenplay The Slow And Complete Decompensation of Jim Manos, and you can find out why below.

Casting Tidbits: Ellen Page, Olga Kurylenko, Hugh Jackman & More

Page / Kurylenko / Jackman

I went to one of those obedience places once. It was all going well until they spilled hot candle wax on my Casting Tidbits. First up, after just hearing that Alec Baldwin and possible Jesse Eisenberg would be joining Woody Allen's next untitled project shooting in Rome, Variety has confirmed both actors in the cast and revealed that Ellen Page (Juno, Whip It) and Penelope Cruz (Volver, Vicky Cristina Barcelona) have also joined the cast. Once again, we have no story details, but the ensemble casts for Allen's projects always bring together the most talented young actors and actresses with some of the greatest Hollywood veterans.

'Super 8' Film Reel Viral Box Sent Out, But Not Much Unlocked Yet

Super 8 Film Reel

With only two months left until release, I had a feeling we'd see the on-going viral for J.J. Abrams' Super 8 kick back in again. There hasn't been anything new since that big reveal of footage a few weeks ago, but SlashFilm received a mysterious package earlier today containing an old Super 8 film reel (above). The box contained a short clip on a USB drive as well as a note with the reel including a code which is designed to unlock more footage on viral site s8editingroom.com. But oddly, I've scoured the internet and I can't find anyone else who also received a package today. Not even us. So what else is there to unlock? Not much yet.

Watch: Taylor Lautner Goes Jason Bourne in First 'Abduction' Trailer

Abduction Trailer

"Suddenly everyone around me is dying." Lionsgate has debuted the first trailer via MTV for Abduction, an upcoming thriller starring Taylor Lautner as a boy who discovers he's actually a missing person and goes on an action-filled hunt to find out why and who he really is. I'm going to be honest, as much as I hate Taylor Lautner, this looks surprisingly quite fun. It definitely has a very Jason Bourne plus The Fugitive feel to it, but I think it looks like it might be actually worth seeing this fall. I was not expecting that. In addition to Lautner, this also stars Lily Collins, Alfred Molina, Jason Isaacs, Maria Bello and even Sigourney Weaver.
