Hector Hammond Looking Diabolical on New 'Green Lantern' Poster

Hector Hammond

We've highlighted our hero and several of his alien Green Lantern Corps. counterparts with their own posters and even an epic banner, but now the villain of Green Lantern gets his own poster too. Dr. Hector Hammond (Peter Sarsgaard) the pathologist son of a senator ends up being seen as a disappointment in his father's eyes, but has a newfound confidence and plan to achieve greatness after he becomes infused with psychic powers after coming into contact with something from another world. The poster doesn't show Hammond with the vein-riddled, giant head we've seen in trailers, but it certainly is clear he's the villain.

Two More 'Fright Night' Photos Offer First Glimpse of David Tennant

Fright Night

Last month we got our first official look at Craig Gillespie's remake of Fright Night by way of a few photos with star Anton Yelchin and vampire villain Colin Farrell. Now a couple new photos show us some of the danger Charlie Brewster (Yelchin) finds himself in, and finally we also get our first glimpse at David Tennant as Las Vegas stage magician Peter Vincent. In the original, Vincent was a midnight movie host on TV tapped by Charlie to help thwart his vampire neighbor, but we're not sure how he'll be featured this time. Either way, seeing Tennant in full wardrobe as some kind of Criss Angel character is great. See them below!

Cannes 2011 Review: Woody Allen's Latest Movie 'Midnight in Paris'

Midnight in Paris

Wow this was good. I've only been getting into Woody Allen recently and have been let down by some of his recent films, like You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger last year and Scoop from 2006. However, that changes again, as Woody is back and better than ever with his new film Midnight in Paris, which is premiering at the Cannes Film Festival today as the opening film. It's a great fit for a Cannes opener, as not only is it a love letter to Paris, the heart of France, but it's filled with numerous fantastic French actors as well as plenty of talented American and British actors. And I must say, I think it's Allen's best film in years.

Leiv Schreiber & Naomi Watts Unite for 'The Bleeder' Boxing Drama

Liev Schreiber / Naomi Watts

The two have quite a relationship off camera, but now Liev Schreiber and Naomi Watts will collaborate on a new boxing drama called The Bleeder. Variety recently revealed the project, which is being shopped around Cannes, which follows the true story former New Jersey heavyweight boxer and womanizer Chuck Wepner who boxed 15 rounds with Muhammad Ali. The story actually inspired Sylvester Stallone to write Rocky, and we all know how that turned out. In addition, the voluptuous "Mad Men" star Christina Hendricks is said to also be part of the cast, though it's not clear what role she or Watts will be take.

Watch: First Teaser Trailer for Peter Chan's 'Swordsmen' Film 'Wu Xia'

Wu Xia (Swordsmen) Trailer

"Liu Jinxi - What kind of man are you?" There's a film that's premiering at the Cannes Film Fest this month from Chinese director Peter Chan that's called Wu Xia, or just Swordsmen translated to English. The martial arts action-drama stars Takeshi Kaneshiro, Wei Tang and Donnie Yen (who recently appeared in Legend of the Fist as Chen Zhen) as a sinful martial arts expert wants to start a new tranquil life, only to be hunted by a determined detective and his former master. Twitch recently found the first teaser trailer for Wu Xia and it kicks quite a bit of ass, can't wait to see this in Cannes. It does have English subtitles - enjoy!

First Look: Early Teaser Poster for 'The Expendables 2' Discovered!

The Expendables 2

They'll be back! We already know that Nu Image / Millennium Films and Lionsgate have already put The Expendables 2 into production, but it hasn't started shooting and isn't due out until 2012, so we haven't seen much from it yet. Browsing through the daily magazines in Cannes today I caught this new promotional teaser poster for the sequel, which plays off of the metallic skull design seen on the teaser artwork for the first Expendables movie, which was also found in Cannes just last year. It's just an early look and isn't much besides an updated design, but I thought this was worth sharing with everyone. Check out the poster below!

Kiefer Sutherland, Jon Lovitz and More Will Practice 'Sleight of Hand'

Kiefer Sutherland

Yet another project has surfaced from the barrage of new meat unveiled at the Cannes Film Festival (be sure to keep an eye on Alex's coverage here), but this one has the most strange assembly of talent that I've seen yet. In a press release, it was revealed that Kiefer Sutherland ("24"), Gerard Depardieu (The Last Holiday), Thomas Jane (The Punisher), Jon Lovitz (Casino Jack) and Til Schweiger (Inglourious Basterds) will all star in the action comedy Sleight of Hand. The story follows a crew of small time crooks in Paris, who inadvertently end up possessing a rare gold coin belonging to a notorious French gangster.

'Gotti: Three Generations' Will Reunite Barry Levinson and Al Pacino

Barry Levinson and Al Pacino

Just last week we learned that Rain Man director Barry Levinson would replace Nick Cassavetes as director on the criminal biopic Gotti: Three Generations starring John Tavolta as Gambino crime family boss John Gotti, Sr. Now we have word from THR that the film will reunite the director with his You Don't Know Jack star Al Pacino who has also joined the cast. Apparently Pacino will play Neil Dellacroce the Gambino crime family underboss and associate and mentor to Gotti, Sr. The last time Levinson and Pacino worked together, they got plenty of love from the Emmys (awards here), so maybe they can keep up the good work.

Woody Harrelson Will Be Haymitch Abernathy in 'The Hunger Games'

Hunger Games / Woody Harrelson

Though we initially heard that Woody Harrelson was going to play Head Gamemaker Seneca Crane, the man who created the titular competition at the center of Suzanne Collins' best-selling book series The Hunger Games. However, that role ended up going to American Beauty star Wes Bentley as we reported in a recent Casting Tidbits. However, the Zombieland star has still landed a pivotal role in the anticipated adaptation, and as a matter of  fact, it's a role that was believed to go to another actor. Heat Vision says Harrelson will play Haymitch Abernathy, a role that previously was rumored to belong to John C. Reilly.

Just recently we learned that Rachel Weisz was closing in on taking a role as one of the witches in Sam Raimi's Oz: The Great and Powerful over at Disney. However, Deadline reports the actress is now up for another high profile role. Apparently Weisz is in deeper talks to take the lead female role in the franchise spin-off The Bourne Legacy with Jeremy Renner. Though the story exists in the same universe, the character is new.
