Check Out Empire's First Cover for 'The Hobbit' with Gandalf & Bilbo

Empire's Hobbit Cover

Those lucky rascals at Empire in the UK were one of the first press publications ever to set foot on the set of Peter Jackson's The Hobbit, and although we're still more than a year and half out from release, they've decided to start teasing anyway and have unveiled their new cover highlighting the movies. After our very first glimpse of Martin Freeman as Bilbo just a few days ago, we get another small look at Bilbo, but it's Ian McKellen as Gandalf who gets the fullsize cover shot this time. Ohh it's just so wonderful seeing The Hobbit actually in production and getting new press like this, love it! Check out the bigger cover shot below.

The Coen Brothers Are Working on a Biopic About NYC Folk Musician

Coen Brothers / Dave Van Ronk

We might now know what the Coen Brothers are up to. Apparently the two filmmakers first hinted while at an appearance earlier this month that they're working on a "music-related film" set in/around New York City. However, 24 Frames got the scoop on details behind the project, and apparently it's a biopic about a legendary musician from the "Greenwich Village folk scene" in the 50s named Dave Van Ronk. They've got a script they're working on based loosely on his own memoirs. Their hint from earlier ties it all together: "We're working on a movie [with music that's] pretty much all performed live, single instrument," Joel said.

Sound Off: Disney/Pixar's Sequel 'Cars 2' - So What Did You Think?

Pixar's Cars 2

Now that you've seen it, what did you think? It's Pixar weekend in 2011 and this time they're serving up another sequel, Cars 2, picking up pretty much where the first Cars from 2006 left off. John Lasseter gets director credit again, with Brad Lewis co-director, on an adventure all around the world. Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson) is back, but the story mainly focuses on Mater (Larry the Cable Guy) basically becoming a spy with Finn McMissile (Michael Caine). So how is it? Was it a bad choice for Pixar to make a sequel to this? Is it fun to watch? If you've seen it, leave a comment and tell us what you thought of Cars 2!

Watch: Second Official Trailer for Eerie 'Apollo 18' Found Footage Film

Apollo 18

"You'll kill us both!" The Weinstein Company has unveiled a second official trailer for Apollo 18, the creepy found-footage sci-fi film about the mysterious Apollo 18 moon landing directed by Gonzalo López-Gallego that they've been shifting around. We all saw the first trailer back in February, so it's good to finally see something new and damn is is still creepy as hell. This trailer is a bit shorter and doesn't seem to show as much, and also is a bit more mysterious for the story, but it's worth watching anyway, just to check it out. This is also ties in perfectly with the Transformers 3 moon landing story element. Any ideas about this yet?

First Official Photo: John Cusack as Edgar Allan Poe in 'The Raven'

John Cusack in The Raven

Once upon a midnight dreary... We finally have our first "action shot" look at John Cusack as poet Edgar Allan Poe in the new movie from James McTeigue (V for Vendetta, Ninja Assassin) titled The Raven. Relativity is bringing the film to Comic-Con, so I have a feeling marketing is going to start ramping up, and this is our very first tease. It's basically just Cusack making quite a stance, but I'm looking forward to seeing more, I always love to see what McTeigue does. Set in 1849, the story is about a hunt for a serial killer who kills are inspired by his poems. The cast, not pictured, includes Alice Eve, Luke Evans and Brendan Gleeson.

Paul Rudd Just Loves Flower Fields on New 'Our Idiot Brother' Poster

Paul Rudd in Our Idiot Brother

Honestly, after cracking me up in films like Role Models, Forgetting Sarah Marshall and I Love You, Man, I wouldn't be all that upset if Paul Rudd was actually my brother. But the character he plays in Our Idiot Brother does cause some grief for his family, albeit inadvertently, and with hilarious results. Now on the new poster from ComingSoon for the charming indie comedy, Rudd shines as he lies humbly in a field of flowers with Crocs on his feet. Honestly, this poster truly captures the free-living spirit of Rudd's character, who always has the best intentions, but never quite lands on his feet. You've gotta see the full poster below!

Review: 'Bad Teacher' Scathes, But It's True to Its Unflinching Self

Bad Teacher Review

Elizabeth Halsey is a bad teacher. She despises her students. Puts out a TV and shows films about teachers instead of cracking open their books. She even smokes pot in the school parking lot. So why is Ms. Halsey, played in the new movie Bad Teacher by Cameron Diaz, so damn funny? Hence the question facing Bad Teacher, a movie that despite having low output in regards to likable characters still causes you to double over in laughter with each passing frame. It's not your typical comedy. It aims for discomfort and edge, rather than safe and plastic Hollywood. For that, we have to thank the people behind Bad Teacher.

'Spy Kids 4' Hitting Theaters with an All-New Form of Smell-O-Vision

Spy Kids - Aroma-Scope

Looking back at some of the films in his career, it's no secret that director Robert Rodriguez is a fan of over-the-top, B-movie spirit in films like Machete, Planet Terror, The Faculty and even Sin City. Now he's bringing another cheesy gimmick back to theaters with his franchise sequel/reboot Spy Kids 4: All the Time in the World that will utilize Aroma-Scope, which is basically a different version of the infamous Smell-O-Vision from the 60's which allows audiences to experience the film with not only their eyes, but their noses as well. That's where all this promotion of Spy Kids being in 4D (see the poster) is coming from.

'Columbo' Star and Oscar Nominee Peter Falk Passes Away at Age 83

Peter Falk

While it's pretty much a cliché for detectives to adorn trench coats, fewer on-screen investigators wore the signature wardrobe as well as Peter Falk when he played iconic TV detective "Columbo." While the actor is better know for his work in television, he also leaves behind a legacy in film as TMZ reports Falk has sadly passed away at age 83.  In the last years of his life, the actor became plagued with dementia and tragically it has been said that he couldn't even remember his iconic role as Lieutenant Columbo on TV. Thankfully, audiences spanning generations will remember the actor through is many performances on TV and film.

Emma Thompson to Script 'Annie' Remake for Will & Willow Smith?

Emma Thompson

Back in January we got some news that Will Smith was looking to team-up with his chart-topping singer daughter Willow Smith for a remake of the classic musical Annie over at Columbia Pictures. To make things even more interesting, rapper Jay-Z was also said to be collaborating on the music for the film. Well, for those of you wishing this was a dream, Vulture says project is making some progress with discussions commencing to have actress and occasional screenwriter Emma Thompson adapt the musical for the big screen. This shouldn't be a hard deal to finalize with Thompson working with Smith on Men in Black 3.
