Latest Official Poster for Marvel's 'Captain America: The First Avenger'

Captain America: The First Avenger

There's no gigantic "Avenge" this time, but instead we get a very gritty, very clear look at Chris Evans as Captain America and his iconic shield on this latest poster for Marvel's Captain America: The First Avenger. This latest bit of art comes from Yahoo and is an early tease for the second trailer hitting a bit later today. As for this poster, as immensely patriotic and as bold as it is, it's not really my favorite poster. I don't prefer the credit text in the middle, but I do get why it's there, so we can see the shield in all its glory. That said, I cannot wait to see this, I think it's going to be a kick ass way to end the 2011 superhero summer.

Another Official Trailer for Sturgess & Hathaway's 'One Day' Arrives

Jim Sturgess & Anne Hathaway in One Day

"She made you decent, and in return you made her so happy." Aw, isn't it so sweet? The latest official US trailer for Lone Scherfig's new romantic drama One Day, starring Jim Sturgess and Anne Hathaway, has hit the web courtesy of distributor Focus Features. We've already seen a couple of trailers for this adaptation of David Nicholls' novel, including a lackluster first trailer and an improved international trailer, and thankfully this one looks good as well. I have high hopes for this film, the trailers have just been pretty bad. I'm still looking forward to it and thankfully there's finally only a few more months left. Watch below!

First Look: Three Official Images from Peter Jackson's 'The Hobbit'!

The Hobbit

We've been getting some casting updates from Peter Jackson's Facebook page lately, but now some meaty stuff is finally coming out of New Zealand, as production on The Hobbit has been underway for a little while now. We'd previously seen a photo of the entire cast of the film (up to that point), but now we have the first official images from the set featuring a fantastic look at Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins and even Sir Ian McKellan back in the robes as Gandalf the Grey. It really is exciting seeing new and familiar faces back in Middle Earth, and these photos make me anxious to already see the first movie in 2012. See below!

James Wan Crafting Another Haunting in the Form of 'The Conjuring'

James Wan

His April release of the horror film Insidious has since turned out to be the most profitable film of 2011 by grossing $75 million worldwide for a film that only cost a mere $1.5 million to make. Now Variety reports director James Wan is crafting his next spooky film for New Line with The Conjuring. This time, Wan is using the real-life story of the Perron family to inspire this particular tale as the lot of them claimed that they "lived among the dead" with spirits that were both friendly and evil inhabiting their farmhouse in Rhode Island back in the 1970's. However, right now it's not clear when production will even begin anyway.

Must Watch: Statham, De Niro & Owen in Official 'Killer Elite' Trailer

Killer Elite Trailer

"The gloves are off!" OmniLab and Open Road Films have just debuted the official trailer for Killer Elite, a badass-looking action flick from Australia starring Jason Statham as a elite killer, Robert De Niro as the guy he's saving, and Clive Owen as the bad guy. That's a hell of a cast and I'm hoping that means this is awesome. This trailer is fun as hell anyway, especially with that orchestral "Rock You Like a Hurricane", I want to see it after watching that! The girl is Yvonne Strahovski and it also includes Dominic Purcell and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje. Give it a shot, it's pure action, but it might be good. Plus, damnit - it's De Niro!

Emma Stone Will Not Be Starring in 'Pride and Prejudice and Zombies'

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies / Emma Stone

The actress already faced off hoards of undead alongside Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson and Abigail Breslin, and while a sequel to Zombieland has been in the works ever since the release of the 2009 horror comedy, Emma Stone will battle more zombies in a different film before that happens. Variety reports that Stone was offered but did not take the lead in the adaptation of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies with director Craig Gillespie (the man behind the Fright Night remake) at the helm. Based on the popular period romance remix by Seth Grahame-Smith, the new story adds zombies to Jane Austen's seminal classic.

'Cloud Atlas' Author Teases Six Worlds in Wachowski/Tykwer's Film

Cloud Atlas - Wachowskis

As I was expecting all along, the new Wachowski project is quite ambitious, which is why Tom Tykwer is helping out. The movie is Cloud Atlas, an adaptation based on David Mitchell's novel that's currently in pre-production in Berlin and will shoot entirely in Germany. We've heard confirmations already from actors like Hugo Weaving that he will be playing six characters in the film, meaning they are adapting the book in true to its six worlds, but now the author himself confirms as well. The Guardian (via The Film Stage) ran a piece on Cloud Atlas shooting in Germany and has some exciting quotes from Mitchell that you must hear.

Tom Wilkinson to Play Old West Railroad Tycoon in 'The Lone Ranger'

Tom Wilkinson

Disney has already saddled up their titular hero with Armie Hammer playing The Lone Ranger, and Johnny Depp playing his trusty sidekick Tonto, and now another cast member has just surfaced for Gore Verbinski's new take on the classic cowboy hero. Variety reports Tom Wilkinson (The Green Hornet) has landed a prominent role in the film. The actor will play a railroad tycoon in the Old West who somehow gets caught up with our two heroes. We're not exactly sure about the story for this western yet, but production is expected to being this fall with a release planned for December 21st, 2012. Read on!

Ron Howard & David Koepp Teaming Up for Big Screen 'Spy vs. Spy'

Spy vs. Spy / Ron Howard

In the days when "Mad TV" was competing with "Saturday Night Live," the former would counter the latter's cartoons by Robert Smigel with the animated battles of Spy vs. Spy. Of course, for decades before that show even premiered, the cartoon was a staple of Mad Magazine. Now Deadline reports that the classic back-and-forth between our black and white rivals will be heading to the big screen in the form of a live-action film which Ron Howard will direct. Honestly, I would've thought they would go the animated route with this property, but apparently this will be a very physical and "highly visual" action comedy.

First Teaser Poster for Pixar's 'Brave' About Scottish Princess Merida

Pixar's Brave

Are you ready to be introduced to the new Pixar movie for 2012? Disney has revealed the first teaser poster for Pixar's Brave over on Entertainment Weekly (via ComingSoon) today, to compliment the new teaser trailer that's attached to Cars 2 opening this weekend (go see it!). It's a very lush and gorgeous first look at the world we'll be getting into come next summer. To be honest, I'm not totally sold on this redhead Merida character yet, but I love the imagery and those little blue flames, whatever they are. The voice cast includes Kelly Macdonald as Merida, Billy Connolly, Emma Thompson, Kevin McKidd and even Robbie Coltrane, too.

'Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol' Trailer Playing on 'Transformers 3'

Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol

Briefly: If you need more encouragement to go see Transformers: Dark of the Moon in theaters next week, here it is. The Film Stage is reporting that the first full-length trailer for Brad Bird's Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol will be attached when it opens on June 29th next week. This will be the first anyone has seen of the new Mission Impossible movie, produced by Bad Robot, starring Tom Cruise and Jeremy Renner as the new guy, along with Simon Pegg, Paula Patton, Anil Kapoor and Michael Nyqvist. I've got high hopes for this, and I have seen just a brief glimpse of footage, can't wait to see this trailer. Reactions from those who've seen it so far are saying it's pretty awesome, especially the Burj Khalifa scenes.
