The Golden Briefcase - Zombie Roadkill

On this week's episode of The Golden Briefcase, Tim and Jeremy are joined by Zombie Roadkill director Dave Green to go through their latest Picks of the Week, the newest in DVD & Blu-Ray releases, chat about the new red band trailer for Conan the Barbarian, the first trailer for Brad Pitt's Moneyball, and much more! The main topic of the night was a discussion on Short Films, due to Pixar's involvement in the short film world, and partially in light of Cars 2 coming out. The guys go over some of their favorite shorts from over the years and speak with Dave on his shorts catalogue including Meltdown and Zombie Roadkill.

Taylor Lautner Goes Building-Sliding on the Latest 'Abduction' Poster

Taylor Lautner - Abduction

Lionsgate has revealed a new poster via Yahoo for their upcoming action film Abduction, starring Taylor Lautner, Alfred Molina, Lily Collins, directed by John Singleton (watch the trailer). After criticizing the last poster for being pretty much a Jason Bourne-ripoff, this new poster follows in the same footsteps, but at least has a unique flare of its own with a crazy shot of Lautner sliding down the face of a building. To be honest, I thought it looked pretty cool, worth sharing. Then again, it's heavily Photoshopped and looks a little too squeaky clean, especially if they're going for that Bourne feel again. That said, check it out anyway.

Full Japanese Trailer for Shawn Levy's 'Real Steel' Robot Boxing Flick

Real Steel Trailer

"Our main event features pain!!" Another new full-length Japanese trailer (in English) has popped up online for Shawn Levy's Real Steel, the big boxing robot spectacular hitting theaters this fall. We get to spend a lot more time with the 'bot they're training in the second half with this, and it still looks great, like an inspirational underdog story but with some badass fight sequences and Hugh Jackman in it! We've already seen the first full US trailer, but I'm already at the point where I don't need to see anymore, I'm curious enough to want to go see this anyway. Evangeline Lilly and Dakota Goyo also star in this. Enjoy!

Idris Elba Takes 'Pacific Rim' As Jamie Foxx Locks 'Django Unchained'

Idris Elba / Jamie Foxx

Earlier this month we learned that The Losers and Thor star Idris Elba was a frontrunner to take on a role in Guillermo del Toro's big budget sci-fi flick Pacific Rim. At the time, it wasn't entirely clear what role Elba would take, but now Deadline confirms that the actor has closed his deal to take the lead role that was actually originally developed for Tom Cruise. That makes this the most high profile and biggest role of Elba's career now, and that's good news for the powerful supporting actor. He'll be playing the part of Sensei/Pentecost, a black Briton and commanding officer of Charlie Hunnam‘s character. More below!

Jason Momoa Joining Sylvester Stallone for Action Flick 'Head Shot'

Jason Momoa

Later this this year we'll see him spilling blood as Conan the Barbarian, but over the past couple months, Jason Momoa has also been an epic bad-ass on HBO's fantasy series "Game of Thrones." Now the actor will play a straight-up villain as Latino Review reports that Momoa has been cast in the villain role for the action flick Head Shot. Though the project is apparently now untitled, it's based on a graphic novel called Bullet to the Head and has Sylvester Stallone leading the film as a New Orleans hitman who teams up with a Gotham cop (reportedly played by Thomas Jane) to take down the killers of their respective partners.

Jean-Claude Van Damme Returning to Action Genre with 'Six Bullets'

Jean-Claude Van Damme

If you listened closely, you heard his voice in last month's release of Kung Fu Panda 2, but now it looks like Jean-Claude Van Damme will return to some live-action ass-kicking very soon. His last venture on film poked fun at himself in the form of JCVD, but now the longtime action star is getting back into his old groove with Six Bullets. Ernie Barbarash will direct the film which follows an ex-mercenary kidnapping expert hired by a martial arts fighter whose daughter has gone missing. Obviously this sounds right up Van Damme's alley, but I can't help but wish that after JCVD, he might try something different.

Another Creepy New 'Don't Be Afraid of the Dark' Poster Peeks Out

Don't Be Afraid of the Dark

Fear is never just make believe. I can't wait to see this movie! I love the atmosphere of it, it seems genuinely creepy, and I'm nervous about being scared as all hell when I go see it. Empire has debuted another poster for Don't Be Afraid of the Dark, produced by Guillermo del Toro, directed by Troy Nixey, starring Guy Pearce, Katie Holmes and the young Bailee Madison. This awesome poster features art similar to the official US poster for this movie, which is taller and has the hands going up, not down like here. However, I like the placement of the girl in this one much more, it's just eerie and truly chilling. You can view the poster below!

Must Watch: Fantastic New UK 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes' Trailer

Rise of the Planet of the Apes

Even though I proclaimed that recent short trailer late last week for Rise of the Planet of the Apes was the "best damn trailer yet", this one steals that crown from it no question, as it's a full-on two-and-a-half minute theatrical trailer from the UK, courtesy of The Sun, and it's great. They also debuted that awesome poster which you can see below, too. This trailer gives a very clear picture of the story of Caesar in the movie, from start to finish, growing up, where he goes to eventually end up at revolution. I also feel like each new trailer we get they keep slightly extending CG scenes we've seen, but they still look fantastic. Can't wait!

Eddie Izzard, Bob Hoskins & Toby Jones Are Dwarves in 'Snow White'

Eddie Izzard

Just recently we found out that Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides villain Ian McShane would play the dwarf leader in Universal's classic fairytale adaptation Snow White and the Huntsman. Now Heat Vision reports that the team of dwarves is beginning to shape up around McShane with comedian Eddie Izzard (Ocean's 13), Bob Hoskins (Hook) and Toby Jones (The Mist) snagging three of the dwarf roles. Izzard plays Tiberius, the biggest and burliest of the crew (not typical descriptions of Izzard), Jones plays a timid dward named Claudius and Hoskins plays a blind dwarf named Constantine. But there's more!

New Casting Tidbits: John C. Reilly, Jennifer Lopez & Channing Tatum

Reilly / Lopez / Tatum

Casting Tidbits like to breathe, and they're good at hiding it. I put a pillow over a baby. I thought she wasn't breathing, but she was. She was sneaky, but I'll try again. First up, THR has word that Megan Fox and John C. Reilly have booked cameo roles in Sacha Baron Cohen's forthcoming comedy The Dictator. The film reteams the actor with Borat director Larry Charles for the story of a dictator who risked his life to ensure that democracy would never come to the country he so lovingly oppressed. Cohen plays the dictator and a goat herder, but it's not clear what roles Fox and Reilly will have in the film.

Watch: First Official Trailer for Craig Brewer's New 'Footloose' Remake

Footloose Trailer

Welcome back to Bomont. MTV and Paramount have finally debuted the official trailer for Craig Brewer's remake of the classic musical Footloose, this time updated to be contemporary and for the MTV generation. As you might've expected, it's basically Step Up (or any of those dance movies), but as Footloose instead. Newcomer Kenny Wormald stars as Ren MacCormack and the cast also includes Dennis Quaid and Julianne Hough. It may not be what you expect (or maybe it is), but fire it up anyway. At least there's a bit of great-looking filmmaking in here. There's lots of public dancing, so watch out and try to have fun!

Ron Howard Might Direct Peter Morgan's Formula One Project 'Rush'

Ron Howard

It looks like Ron Howard might be headed to the race track soon. It was first reported by 24 Frames, then backed up by news on Variety, that Ron Howard is in "early discussions" to direct a biopic about a rivalry between the late playboy British Formula One driver James Hunt and his nemesis, Austrian champion Niki Lauda. Just recently, Paul Greengrass was eying the project as well, but has since moved on, so now Ron Howard is showing interest as well. The project is titled Rush at the moment and comes with a screenplay by Oscar nominated Peter Morgan (Last King of Scotland, The Queen, Frost/Nixon, The Damned United).
