'Max Payne' Director John Moore Might Step Up to Helm 'Die Hard 5'
Early in February we learned that Halo: Reach short film director Noam Murro was being lined up to direct the gestating sequel Die Hard 5 with Bruce Willis stepping into John McClane's shoes yet again. However, not too long ago we learned Murro would instead sit in the director's chair for the prequel 300: Battle of Artemisia (the project formerly known as Xerxes). Apparently his commitment to that film has forced him to step away from the sequel, but Twitch has learned that Behind Enemy Lines and Max Payne director John Moore has now been offered the film, and they even have a few interesting plot details.

Chuck Norris, John Travolta and JCVD Lined Up for 'Expendables 2'?
Back in June we learned that Con-Air director Simon West would be at the helm of The Expendables 2 which is aiming for an August 17th, 2012 release, but aside from the assumption that surviving cast members from the first film would return, we've yet to hear information on any new cast members. However, Novinite (via Collider) recently spoke with David Varod, CEO of the Bulgarian film company Nu Boyana, who talked about some films shooting in the country, including the action sequel. In the interview, Varod mentioned John Travolta, Chuck Norris and Jean-Claude Van Damme as part of the cast.

Sigur Rós' Jónsi Scoring Cameron Crowe's New Film 'We Bought a Zoo'
This sounds like it might be amazing. According to a tweet from The A.V. Club's Todd VanDerWerff (via The Playlist), musician Jónsi, the vocalist/guitarist from Icelandic band Sigur Rós, will be scoring the new Cameron Crowe movie We Bought a Zoo. "Everybody add him to your Oscar predictions all at once," he joked from the TCAs. That's a damn good point! We Bought a Zoo is Crowe's adaptation of Benjamin Mee's book, starring Matt Damon, Scarlett Johansson, Elle Fanning, Patrick Fugit and Thomas Haden Church. Crowe, who's a musical genius, has been teasing the music for a couple of weeks, but now we know it's Jónsi.

Indie Trailer Sunday: Juno Temple Stars in Abe Sylvia's Film 'Dirty Girl'
"Danielle, nobody likes a dirty girl." Today's indie trailer via Apple is for something a little dirty, the indie Dirty Girl starring Juno Temple as, well, a dirty girl. It's actually a roadtrip coming-of-age movie, but it doesn't really seem like it, at least not really an interesting one. Despite starring the rather talented Juno Temple, as well as Milla Jovovich, William H. Macy, Mary Steenburgen, Dwight Yoakam and Jeremy Dozier, this doesn't look good at all. It received dismal reviews at TIFF last year, but it might interest or connect with a few of you, and I wanted to feature it anyway. Check it out if you think Juno Temple will impress you.

Brad Furman Has a Godfather-Esque Pablo Escobar Film in the Works
Will this one to make it to the screen? THR is reporting that another project about Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar is in the works, this time with Lincoln Lawyer director Brad Furman at the helm. The film doesn't have a title yet, but is being produced by Scott Steindorff (Lincoln Lawyer, Love in the Time of Cholera, Turistas) of Stone Village Pictures, with a script by Matt Aldrich. "This is the Latino Godfather," Steindorff reveals. "We're showing the story of his family, the structure of his enterprise, his rise—the man had the largest criminal organization in the world. In the end, it was a war between Colombia and one man."

New Batch of Photos Show Lighter Side of Roman Polanski's 'Carnage'
Back in March, we got our first look at Roman Polanski's promising new film Carnage, an adaptation of the stage play God of Carnage which follows two sets of parents, played by John C. Reilly, Jodie Foster, Kate Winslet and Christoph Waltz, brought together very suddenly by an altercation between their respective children. While it sounded like the film would be pretty dramatic in its execution of the parents' meeting which ultimately crumbles, some new photos show the lighter/comical side of the film with Foster spraying flowers with perfume to give them a scent, and Waltz blow-drying Reilly's cell phone. View below!

Early Buzz: 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes' Exceeds Early Expectations
Though I've been very excited for Rise of the Planet of the Apes ever since the first teaser, many people still seem to be skeptical of whether or not it'll actually be good. I've been waiting to see the full film myself as I expect to love it, but in the meantime, they recently screened it very limited in Australia and some early reviews coming out so far are incredible. I was sent an email this morning with a link to post on To See? Or Not to See? and a collection of tweets praising the film, even going so far as to call it "one of the best [films] I've seen in a long time." This is finally the kind of great buzz I knew we would be hearing closer to release!

Check This Out: Another Coded UK 'Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy' Poster
The Secret is Out! I'm just loving the imagery for this film, it's so sleek yet unique and fits perfectly with this film. As we're still waiting on the US release, our friends in the UK are getting all the treats. We featured the first teaser trailer and first poster for Tomas Alfredson's Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy last month, now LoveFilm has debuted another brand new UK quad poster with more hidden codes and more Gary Oldman on it. Apparently there are words/codes hidden on the poster (they're hosting a contest to find them), which is just frickin' cool. The more we see from this, the more excited I get, expecting another hit from Alfredson.

Rob Kazinsky, Willem Dafoe Joining Guillermo del Toro's 'Pacific Rim'
More casting arriving for Guillermo del Toro's monster-sci-fi Pacific Rim, the project he's developing at Legendary Pictures. Variety is the latest to report that Rob Kazinsky ("EastEnders", "Brothers & Sisters", Red Tails) has joined as "a member of the team trying to defeat the invaders." But the more exciting news is that Willem Dafoe is also "in early talks" to join. Dafoe would play a "rogue scientist with expertise on alien creatures," which sounds like the perfect character for him. Production is expected to begin this fall. Max Martini was also cast this week, joining Charlie Hunnam, Idris Elba and Charlie Day in this sci-fi epic.

Watch: First Trailer for George Lucas Produced WWII Film 'Red Tails'
"We fight! We fight! We fight!" Lucasfilm has debuted the first official trailer for Red Tails, the upcoming WWII drama about the Tuskegee Airmen, the first African-American pilots to fly in a combat squad during World War II. Directed by first-timer Anthony Hemingway, the film stars Cuba Gooding Jr., Terrence Howard, Ne-Yo, Bryan Cranston and many others. Despite hearing about Lucas himself doing reshoots, this actually looks surprisingly good, like a strong WWII drama mixed with some fantastic aerial combat scenes, which is always exciting especially when ILM is involved. This looks fantastic, I'm totally in. Enjoy!
