Rumor: Jim Carrey & Amy Adams Lending Voices to 'Popeye' Movie?
Back in March of 2010, we learned that Sony Pictures Animation, who delivered a spectacular adaptation of Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, would be developing a 3D completely computer animated film version of the classic cartoon sailor Popeye. At the time, Mike Jones (of only The Minotaur Takes a Cigarette Break screenplay) landed the job of writing the script, but no director had been chosen yet. We're not sure if Jones is still involved but It's on the Grid (via Collider) is saying that Jim Carrey will voice the spinach-eating strong man while Amy Adams will lend her voice to his supremely skinny girlfriend Olive Oyl.

First Full Trailer for 'Texas Killing Fields' Starring Sam Worthington
"You don't know how close to the edge you are." You've probably heard the name for this mentioned before, now it's time to watch the trailer. Anchor Bay Films has debuted the official trailer for Texas Killing Fields, a new serial killer suspense-thriller starring Sam Worthington and Jeffrey Dean Morgan, two detectives who track the serial killer responsible for dumping his bodies in the "Killing Fields" nearby. The cast also includes Chloe Moretz, Jessica Chastain, Stephen Graham and Jason Clarke. This looks intense and quite chaotic, I must say, I'm honestly quite interested in seeing this after watching the trailer.

Official US Poster for Lars von Trier's 'Melancholia' More of the Same
Wait - this is the brand new, official US release poster via Vulture for Melancholia? WTF? I've had quite a tumultuous relationship with the marketing for Lars von Trier's Melancholia, to be frank, it sucks. It's gorgeous imagery, sure, but that's just straight from the movie. As for the posters themselves, well, they've been as uninspired and unexciting as a poster could possibly be - and this von Trier film deserves better. My complaint about this new poster is that we've seen this before. In fact, half of this was already the teaser poster, yet they couldn't design anything new? What gives, Magnolia Pictures? Check it out below anyway.

Watch: First Trailer for 'Underworld: Awakening' with Kate Beckinsale
"I was held captive for 12 years." And she has broken out, just in time for a new movie! ScreenGems has unveiled the first trailer (via Yahoo) for Underworld: Awakening, the fourth movie in the vampires vs lycans franchise. Yes, it's in 3D, but most importantly, it features Kate Beckinsale back as Selene. The cast includes Michael Ealy, Stephen Rea, Sandrine Holt, India Eisley, but not many other big names. I personally hate this series, but at least Len Wiseman isn't directing this one, and has instead let Swedish filmmaking duo Mårlind & Stein handle that task. It's very blue, yet again, and extremely-stylish as always, so have fun!

Ridley Scott Returning for Another 'Blade Runner' After 'Prometheus'!
You've come a long way, Ridley Scott. The man who once said that sci-fi is as dead as westerns has caught the sci-fi bug once again. Deadline reports that Ridley Scott is returning to direct "another installment" of Blade Runner after he finishes working on the potential-Alien-prequel Prometheus for Fox. Scott has fully signed on to direct and produce, and is working with Alcon Entertainment to develop. But unfortunately we don't know if it's a prequel, a sequel, or what. So there's no details on what it will be, but at least that Ridley Scott is restarting the Blade Runner franchise again after he finishes with his other science fiction franchise.

And if that sounds like you, there's a chance you could participate. More below!

Robert Downey Jr. Producing USS Indianapolis Story at Warner Bros.
It's been about 60 years since the tragic sinking of the USS Indianapolis during World War II, and now that story is heading to the big screen courtesy or Warner Bros. and producer Robert Downey Jr. and his wife Susan Downey. THR reports the film will focus on the tragedy from the point-of-view of Hunter Scott, an 11-year old boy who embarked on a journey to exonerate the Indianapolis’ court-martialed captain in 1996. The boy ended up researching the tragedy as part of a History Day competition and learned how the warship was sunk by torpedoes with the crew stranded for five days and eaten by sharks.

First Look: Owen Wilson, Steve Martin & Jack Black in 'The Big Year'
Hey all you closet birdwatchers, time to finally chime in! Fox 2000 Pictures has released a first look photo for their upcoming comedy The Big Year, starring quite a cast, but namely Owen Wilson, Steve Martin and Jack Black, as seen in the photo below, from IMDb (via Cinema Blend). The wacky comedy, that we have yet to see a trailer for, is about three avid bird watchers who compete to spot the rarest birds in North America at a prestigious annual event. Also stars Jim Parsons, Rosamund Pike, Rashida Jones, Joel McHale, Anjelica Huston and others. It's an early first look, but I bet there's plenty more coming soon. Check it out!

Official Trailer for Schumacher's Thriller 'Trespass' with Nicolas Cage
"Open the safe!" Here we go again, Nicolas Cage. Millennium Films has debuted the trailer via Yahoo for the home invasion thriller Trespass, starring Nicolas Cage and Nicole Kidman as a wealthy husband/wife whose home gets invaded. I'm not sure where this film came from, but its directed by Joel Schumacher, which is something I need to point out because, well, you know. The cast includes Cam Gigandet and Liana Liberato, but this doesn't look like much more than just another kinetic home invasion flick, big whoop. Plus the trailer gives away most of the story, but it's a Schumacher film, you weren't going to see it anyway.

'Midnight in Paris' Returning to Theaters for a Wide Release Next Week
"You're in love with a fantasy." Woody Allen's Midnight in Paris starring Owen Wilson, which already became the highest grossing Woody Allen film in over 25 years, is returning to theaters in wide release next week. The film originally opened on May 20th after premiering at the Cannes Film Festival (that's where I first saw it) and has slowly been opening in art house theaters nationwide. Sony Pictures Classics announced that they're re-releasing it on Friday, August 26th, in wide release, so that anyone who hasn't seen it yet can finally catch up with it. If I can make the suggestion, definitely see this if you haven't yet, it's very good.

Iñárritu Attached to Revenge Project 'The Revenant' at Warner Bros
Mexican filmmaker Alejandro González Iñárritu looks to have lined up one of his first Hollywood studio projects following directing the highly acclaimed films Amores Perros, 21 Grams, Babel, and Biutiful most recently. The Wrap is reporting that Inarritu is attached to a project called The Revenant at Warner Bros, a revenge story set in the 1800s about a fur trapper left for dead. It's based on Michael Punke's novel and is being produced by Akiva Goldsman at his production company Weed Road Pictures. It's interesting to see Inarritu dabbling in Hollywood like this, but I'm intrigued nonetheless, as this sounds like it could be great.

Badass Poster for Ralph Fiennes' Shakespeare 'Coriolanus' Unveiled
Nature teaches beasts to know their friends. Awesome. THR has unveiled the first official poster for Ralph Fiennes' Coriolanus, his new Shakespeare adaptation starring Fiennes as Caius Martius Coriolanus and Gerard Butler as Tullus Aufidius. We recently featured a rather intense UK trailer for the contemporary Shakespeare flick, and now we have a bold poster to go along with it. Butler and Fiennes are featured face to face, along with some stark imagery like red AK-47s and an emblem above the film's title. I'm loving the marketing for this, it's very gritty and bold for a Shakespeare adaptation, but that's why it's working so well.
