Check This Out: Tim Doyle's 'Liberty Leading'-Inspired 'Fanboys' Print

Tim Doyle's Fanboys

May the Schwartz be with you. Another new custom poster for a fanboy favorite, but this one also kicks ass, so check it out. Artist Tim Doyle has created some new poster art, inspired by Delacroix's famous painting Liberty Leading the People, for Kyle Newman's Fanboys, that recent Star Wars nerds road comedy that took forever to get released. The art was made for Austin Books & Comics upcoming screening as part of the Hot n' Nerdy Films series hosted at the Blue Starlite Drive In theater. Austin always has the best events. Doyle made an original print and a colored variant, which you can see below from his blog (via GeekTyrant).

Michael Gracey to Make Hugh Jackman 'Greatest Showman on Earth'

Hugh Jackman

Just over two years ago we learned the multi-talented Hugh Jackman would finally be bringing his musical talents from the Broadway stage to the big screen by playing P.T. Barnum in an original musical set up at 20th Century Fox called The Greatest Showman on Earth. Jackman is also producing the film which is using a script from "Sex and the City" series writer Jenny Bicks, but the project hasn't had a director attached since then. Now Variety reports Michael Gracey, the VFX wizard and commercial director who just signed on to direct The Order of the Seven for Disney, will direct this promising musical.

Keira Knightley Considering a 'Romeo and Juliet' Spin-Off Romance

Keira Knightley

In November of last year we briefly heard about a new project that would have a new twist on the classic tragic romance of Romeo & Juliet. Based on Rebecca Serle's forthcoming novel When You Were Mine (set to be published in May 2012), the film adaptation is going by the title Rosaline as it follows Shakespeare's classic tale from rom the perspective of the normally silent Rosaline, whom Romeo first claims to love from afar before he spots Juliet. The story breaks off and follows Rosaline as she falls in love with Romeo's cousin Benvolio. Now Vulture says Keira Knightley is circling the project, but she's not the only one. Read on!

TGB Episode 74: The 80's All Over Again (Guest: Dan Trachtenberg)

The Golden Briefcase - The Last Starfighter

On this week's episode of The Golden Briefcase, Tim and Jeremy are joined by Dan Trachtenberg from the Totally Rad Show to go over their Picks of the Week, the newest DVD/Blu-Ray releases, talk about new trailers for A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas 3D and Lynne Ramsay's We Need to Talk About Kevin, plus rant about set photo leak reactions and more. The main topic of the night was a discussion of remaking films from the 80's in honor Fright Night and Conan the Barbarian hitting theaters this weekend. The guys go over some of the best and worst of the bunch and pontificate about what movies might work as remakes.

Jonah Hill in Talks to Join Stiller and Vaughn in 'Neighborhood Watch'

Jonah Hill

At the end of June, we learned about a little Dodgeball reunion as Vince Vaughn was in talks to join Ben Stiller for the sci-fi action comedy Neighborhood Watch. Hot Rod director Akiva Schaffer is behind the camera for the film which follows a group of suburban fathers who start a neighborhood watch group as a front for some male bonding time away from the family. But wouldn't you know it, the group ends up discovering a sinister plot to destroy the world from a dangerous extra-terrestrial force. Now Vulture is hearing that Jonah Hill is in talks to join the comedy as well, but his involvement isn't a done deal just yet.

Second Kick Ass Trailer & Poster for Tuskegee Airmen Film 'Red Tails'

Red Tails Trailer #2

"We have a right to fight for our country, the same as every other American." Holy crap this looks so good. Or at least they can cut great trailers. MTV has debuted another new trailer for Red Tails, the George Lucas-produced WWII film about the Tuskegee Airmen, the first African-American pilots to fly in a combat squad. The film stars Cuba Gooding Jr., Terrence Howard, Ne-Yo, Bryan Cranston and others. The first trailer for this hit just a few weeks ago, but I'm glad to see another, cause this looks awesome. I also had to toss in that poster at the bottom, as even that kicks ass, too. I can't wait to see this! We will not go away!

Rosamund Pike Lands Female Lead Opposite Tom Cruise in 'One Shot'

Rosamund Pike

Though some fans of the novel were a little confused by his casting, there's no stopping Tom Cruise from starring in One Shot, an adaptation of Lee Child's novel of the same name which features the author's recurring character, former military policeman-turned drifter Jack Reacher. The project, which writer Christopher McQuarrie is directing for Paramount Pictures and Skydance Productions, is moving forward after setting a February 2013 release date last month. Deadline reports Rosamund Pike, who starred in Surrogates and has a role in the upcoming sequel Wrath of the Titans, has snagged the female lead for this.

Matthew McCounaghey Will Manage a Male Strip Club in 'Magic Mike'

Matthew McConaughey

Back in April we learned that director Steven Soderbergh had picked up another film to helm before his supposed retirement with the indie drama Magic Mike, a film that follows the titular male stripper played by Channing Tatum who takes a newcomer, played by Alex Pettyfer (I Am Number Four), under his wing and shows him how to hustle on and off the stage. Now Variety reports Matthew McConaughey has also joined the cast as Dallas, a former exotic dancer who owns and operates Xquisite, the club where Magic Mike dances for dollars. Sounds like there's going to be a lot of male eye candy for the ladies out there.

Watch: Chilling New Teaser for Daniel Radcliffe's 'The Woman in Black'

The Woman in Black

The spectre of darkness. CBS Films has debuted a new teaser trailer for their ghost thriller The Woman in Black, which stars Daniel Radcliffe as a young lawyer who travels to a remote village, but discovers the ghost of a scorned woman set on vengeance. We've already seen one teaser for this, but this new one has a much creepier vibe to it, just bone-chilling, that voice-over rhyme, all the ghosts popping up, especially the one at the end. This is a classic ghost story more well known in Europe than the US, but I still think it looks quite good, there's something appealing about it, despite being so spooky. Check out the new teaser below!

Illumination Entertainment Plans Live-Action Teen Gospel Choir Story

Gospel for Teens

The company found success in their collaboration with Universal on the animated hit Despicable Me, and now Chris Meledandri and his Illumination Entertainment banner are planning their first live-action family film. Deadline says Illumination and Universal are teaming again for a film based on a "60 Minutes" segment called Gospel for Teens. Stephen Belber will script the film that should have the same touching, inspirational feel as The Blind Side as it follows Vy Higginsen, an accomplished gospel singer who started a program for teens in Harlem to get in touch with the music, and leave their problems at the door.

First Official Trailer for Legal Drama 'Puncture' Starring Chris Evans

Chris Evans in Puncture

"Well, at least I have the courage to lose for what's right!" No, this isn't a horror film, it's a legal drama starring Chris Evans. The official trailer for Puncture, directed by brothers Adam & Mark Kassen, the latter of whom stars in this as Paul Danziger, recently debuted in high def on the First Look YouTube (via Latino Review) and it's worth watching just to see what this is all about. This time the legal battle is over a retractable needle to prevent nurses from being accidentally infected, but the major corporations don't want it, and they have the power. It looks considerably intriguing, I'm going to seek this out whenever it arrives.

Dakota Fanning

Just last November, one Casting Tidbits update revealed The Lovely Bones star Saoirse Ronan landed the title role in Effie, a biopic about Effie Gray, the wife of English art critic John Ruskin, who became entangled in a famous Victorian love triangle. Now Deadline reports Dakota Fanning will star in the period drama from writer/actress Emma Thompson which chronicles the strange romance, or lack thereof, between Gray and Ruskin. Despite her beauty, Ruskin was said to be disgusted with Gray's body, did not consummate the marriage and annulled it, allowing her to marry Ruskin's protégé John Everett Millais.
