Justin Lin Confirmed for 'Fast Six', Talked 'Terminator' with Cameron
A couple of updates from rising director Justin Lin, responsible for Universal's highest grossing film of the year, Fast Five. Since the immense success and critical praise of that film, Lin has been offered numerous Hollywood projects, including most importantly a re-revival of the Terminator franchise with Arnold Schwarzenegger. "Terminator is something I've been having a lot of fun with," Lin recently told The Playlist, along with a few more updates. But before he gets to that, he's confirmed to return for Fast Six, or Fast & Furious 6, as Universal has already scheduled the sequel for the summer of 2013 after it did well this year.

Review: Ruben Fleischer's '30 Minutes or Less' is 83 Mins of Fast Fun
30 Minutes or Less is 83 minutes long. While that might seem like a trifling amount of time to build and execute a story with fully fleshed out characters, it's not. The days of 150 minute long comedies are upon us, and while filmmakers like Judd Apatow are hitting a few doubles between home runs, Ruben Fleischer is taking a different angle. For his efforts, he's hitting some pretty solid long balls himself. 30 Minutes or Less is quick, it's kinetic, but most importantly, it's riotous, and what it loses in character journey or narrative arc it more than makes up for in pace and precision. Like a well-timed smack of humor, it hits you, spins

"That's not that bad!" Summit has unveiled a second theatrical trailer for the comedy 50/50, formerly titled I'm With Cancer, written by cancer survivor Will Reiser, directed by Jonathan Levine of The Wackness. Inspired by personal experiences, 50/50 is an original story about friendship, love, survival and finding humor in unlikely places. Joseph Gordon-Levitt stars as Adam, Seth Rogen as his best friend, along with a supporting cast including Anna Kendrick and Bryce Dallas Howard. This is one of those must see films that everyone is talking about this fall, and here's another great trailer to tease it. Don't miss this!

Video Interview: 'Final Destination 5' Writer & Director on 3D Horror
Death Has Never Been Closer. New Line is back with another installment in the never-ending—despite the premise—franchise Final Destination. Taking over the reigns on this fourth sequel for his first time as a feature director is Steven Quale, who worked for James Cameron as second-unit director on Avatar and co-directed the 3D Aliens of the Deep IMAX film. His partner in crime is Eric Heisserer, writer of Final Destination 5, who wrote the A Nightmare on Elm Street remake and worked on The Thing prequel. I met up with both Steve and Eric last weekend for a chat about this horror franchise, shooting in 3D, and more.

First Look: Fernando Meirelles' New Sex Film '360' with Rachel Weisz
Well what do we have here? Another new set of first look photos from TIFF for the new "uncompromising dramatic thriller" from City of God and Constant Gardener director Fernando Meirelles called 360, inspired by Arthur Schnitzler's play La Ronde. The film is an ensemble drama that "explores how sexual relationships can transgress social boundaries." The cast includes Rachel Weisz, Jude Law, Anthony Hopkins, Ben Foster and even Jamel Debbouze, who you'll recognize from Amelie and Angel-A. While this is a sexual drama, there isn't anything risque about any of these six photos, but check them out anyway.

Watch: Second Official Trailer for 'Abduction' Starring Taylor Lautner
What if you discovered your entire life was a lie? Lionsgate has unveiled a second trailer via Apple for John Singleton's action-thriller Abduction, starring Taylor Lautner as a kid who sets out to uncover the truth about his life when he finds his photo on a missing persons website. This second trailer runs a mere 60-seconds, much shorter than the full two-and-a-half minute first trailer, though it still sets up the same story and has a lot of the same action intensity anyway. In addition to Lautner, this also stars Lily Collins, Alfred Molina, Jason Isaacs, Maria Bello, even Sigourney Weaver. Check out the new trailer below.

Brad Pitt Starting to Show Up in His Own 'Moneyball' Posters All Over
Brad Pitt is a very popular brand around the world and he knows it. So does Sony/Columbia Pictures, which is why they've been releasing new posters for Bennett Miller's Moneyball with nothing but Brad Pitt front and center on them. I really loved that minimalistic baseball field poster, but these ones have less diamond, much more Billy Beane. I'm quite excited to see this, I know this adaptation has been through a lot, but all the trailers look great and even marketing like this, cheesy as it may be with Pitt front and center, keeps me hyped to see it. Take a look at two posters from IMPAwards, one Japanese, both with Pitt, below.

20th Century Fox Pays $1.3 Million for Barefoot Bandit's Movie Deal
But the 20-year-old "Barefoot Bandit" won't make a penny of it. THR reports that 20th Century Fox has paid nearly $1.3 million for the life story rights ("movie and ancillary rights") of Colton Harris-Moore, the infamous Barefoot Bandit who was the talk of the internet early last year when TIME profiled his illegal escapades, stealing cars, boats and even planes (which he later crashed). Colton was eventually captured by the FBI and will be using the money from this deal to pay back the "victims" of those he stole from. "I have absolutely zero interest in profiting from any of this and I won't make a dime off it. It all goes to restitution."

Universal Remaking Indie Film 'Phasma Ex Machina' with Gary Shore
Another day, another remake. Deadline is reporting that Universal Pictures has acquired remake rights to Matt Osterman's Phasma Ex Machina, originally titled Ghost from the Machine, a US short film that was released on DVD just last year. Instead of bringing on Osterman to direct, Universal is putting Gary Shore, an up-and-coming director behind The Cup of Tears (trailer for that), in the director's seat for the remake, along with Nathan Parker to write. If all goes as planned, this will be next for Shore before he moves onto any other projects, including a feature version of Cup of Tears. I've never heard of any of this, what gives?

First Look: Director Mary Harron's New Horror Film 'The Moth Diaries'
No Introduction Necessary. Canadian filmmaker Mary Harron, who brought us the brilliant American Psycho in 2000 but hasn't done much since, is back with her latest feature film - The Moth Diaries. It's premiering at the Toronto Film Festival this fall, and as we wait until the fest kicks off, TIFF.net has posted four new first look photos (via The Playlist) worth looking at. A few of them are just dainty shots of the girls, but there's at least one that has quite a bit of blood in it. The Moth Diaries stars Lily Cole, Sarah Bolger and Scott Speedman in a story about a girl at a boarding school who suspects her roommate is a vampire.

Brad Bird Says Passion and Taking Risks Are Keys to Pixar's Success
That's a headline no one in Hollywood wants to hear. Well, no Hollywood executive, that is. No matter who's gawking at the headline or what Brad Bird has to say, I love hearing it and I'm grateful he mentions it. It's something we don't hear enough of in this town, and though taking risks doesn't always guarantee success, I think it's necessary to create profound work that pushes the boundaries of cinema (or even just rethinks the way we watch movies). Hero Complex recently interviewed Brad Bird, mostly talking about his work on The Incredibles while at Pixar, but the filmmaker had great things to say about Pixar's creative process.

'Harry Potter' Duo David Yates and Steve Kloves Taking 'The Stand'
The duo just finished out one of the biggest film franchises of all-time with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II (not to mention the previous two films), but now director David Yates and screenwriter Steve Kloves are ready to team-up on another high profile adaptation. HitFix has learned that Warner Bros. is currently finalizing deals for the two filmmakers to reunite for a multi-film adaptation of Stephen King's novel The Stand. Since the book was beefy enough to fill a six hour miniseries back in the 90s, then there's plenty of material for two, maybe even three movies to come from the 1978 apocalyptic sci-fi story.
