Christian Bale Circling Villain Role in Spike Lee's Remake of 'Oldboy'?
Currently he's busy shooting one of the most anticipated sequels in the past decade with The Dark Knight Rises. However, what's actor Christian Bale doing after taking off the cape for his last go round as Batman with director Christopher Nolan? We've already heard talk about his involvement in Zack Snyder's The Last Photograph (though he doesn't seem to be involved anymore), Concrete Island with Brad Anderson and maybe Noah with Darren Aronofsky. But now the actor is also considering taking parts in two remakes: Spike Lee's new take on Oldboy, and the remake of A Star is Born from Clint Eastwood.

Another Fantastic International Trailer for 'Tinker, Tailor, Solider, Spy'
Between the cool sets of coded posters featuring cast members like Gary Oldman, Tom Hardy and Colin Firth, and both the first teaser trailer and second international trailer, it's safe to say that Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy is looking like it could turn out to be one of the best and most tranquil spy thrillers in a long time. Aside from the stellar cast, the direction of Tomas Alfredson (Let the Right One In) bringing John Le Carre's classic novel to the big screen just makes this look better and better all the time. Such is the case with this shorter but still sweet new international trailer that keeps me pumped for the flick. Watch below!

First Official Poster for 'My Week With Marilyn' with Michelle Williams
There she is! So The Weinstein Company unveiled an official teaser poster on Moviefone for Simon Curtis' My Week With Marilyn, the period film starring Michelle Williams as Marilyn Monroe on her trip to England in 1957 to shoot Laurence Olivier's The Prince and the Showgirl. It's a cool poster, but it's pretty simple, just lots of white and a photo and some text, but I admire that simplicity. In fact, I think I'm most interested to see Eddie Redmayne as Colin Clark on this poster, the guy (also in color) to the right, who was assigned to follow Monroe around London wherever she went. We've seen a first look but no trailer yet.

Chazz Palminteri is Ready to Join 'Gotti: In the Shadow of My Father'
Our last update on the film had Ben Foster reuniting with director Barry Levinson for Gotti: In the Shadow of My Father. With the actor taking the role of John Gotti, Jr. essentially the entire Gotti family has been cast. Now Variety has word on another great name joining the cast as someone outside of the crime family but still very much involved with the mob. Apparently Chazz Palminteri has landed the role of Mafia boss Paul Castellano, the man who succeeds Carlo Gambino as head of the Gambino crime family. It's after the murder of Castellano in 1985 that the elder John Gotti takes over the criminal organization.

'Conan' Writer Sean Hood on 'What's It Like to Have Your Film Flop?'
I've always wondered what that's like. How do you feel if the movie you spent years working on barely opens and is forgotten at the end of a weekend? What do you do when you make it all the way to the Oscars, but your film doesn't win a single award? Tough questions, and situations, but screenwriter and self-described "script doctor" Sean Hood took it upon himself to write a lengthy essay on Q&A site Quora about the poor performance of Lionsgate's Conan the Barbarian, which barely made $10 million its opening weekend. I thought this was important to feature, at the least so other aspiring writers can read it and stay motivated.

New Posters for Craig Brewer's 'Footloose' Tell Everyone to Cut Loose
Though the remake of the classic 80's film will likely have some convincing to do before it's October release date, there's been some early buzz about Craig Brewer's updated Footloose actually being a fantastic and relevant take on the favorite dance romance of the past. Though I wasn't particularly impressed by the first trailer released in June, the second trailer released earlier this month was a vast improvement. Now we have four new posters that thankfully don't rely upon Photoshop chopping and call back to the classic titular song, which is featured in both the original film and this new remake, telling everyone to cut loose.

Clifton Collins Jr. Joins the Ranks of Guillermo del Toro's 'Pacific Rim'
As a character actor, he's made some small but memorable appearances in films such as J.J. Abrams' Star Trek, and one hell of a cameo alongside Thomas Jane in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. Now Clifton Collins Jr. is bringing his talent to another high profile sci-fi project as Variety reports the actor has landed an unknown role Guillermo del Toro's ambitious and promising project Pacific Rim. The actor joins an interesting array of talent that includes Idris Elba, Charlie Hunnam, and "It's Always Sunny in Philadelpha" funnyman Charlie Day. With the cast growing, it sounds like this project won't get slowed down.

Watch: Official Trailer for Mateo Gil's 'Blackthorn' with Sam Shepard
A living legend, a final adventure, an epic journey home. Magnolia Pictures recently debuted this official trailer on Apple (tip to TFS) for Spanish filmmaker Mateo Gil's new western Blackthorn, which stars Sam Shepard as the legendary Butch Cassidy in his "final" adventure. The cast also includes Eduardo Noriega, Stephen Rea, Magaly Solier. It's been said (but unsubstantiated) that Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid were killed in a standoff with the Bolivian military in 1908 - this is that story. It actually looks pretty damn good, I'm not sure where it came from, but check out the trailer. "You're a damn legend, and here you are!"

Ed Zwick is Building 'The Great Wall' Feature Film for Legendary East
With Legendary Pictures making such great strides with a new Batman franchise from Christopher Nolan and a forthcoming revamp of Superman with Zack Snyder's Man of Steel, executive Thomas Tull is hoping to spread that success across seasĀ with Legendary East, the standalone Hong Kong-based entertainment company. Now the Asian-based banner has its first project as Deadline reports The Last Samurai and Love and Other Drugs director Ed Zwick will be at the helm of The Great Wall. Though details are scarce, the story will deal with the mystery behind one of the greatest manmade structures on the planet.

Shepard Fairey's Teaser Posters for 'The Lady' Starring Michelle Yeoh
Democracy in Burma! Support Human Rights! I know this is the second post about The Lady we've had today, but these posters are too gorgeous to pass up, as they were designed by none other than Shepard Fairey, of the Obama poster and They Live. Luc Besson's The Lady, which we just featured a teaser trailer for today, stars Michelle Yeoh as real-life Burmese politician Aung San Suu Kyi, who can be seen on the right side. Suu Kyi was released from house arrest after 21 years last November and Luc Besson quickly, and fairly quietly, made a movie about her starring Yeoh, as seen on the left side poster. Definitely eye-catching!

Must Watch: Dan Trachtenberg's Awesome Portal-Inspired Short Film
Holy crap Portal: The Movie?! Close, so very close, but it's only a short. Debuted on YouTube (via a tip by SlashFilm) today is a short film directed by Dan Trachtenberg (also of the Totally Rad Show, who last directed this short, too) titled simply Portal: No Escape, and yes indeed it features the badass Portal gun from Valve's beloved games in live-action. And it's awesome. The short stars actress Danielle Rayne. I actually caught this 7-minute film at Comic-Con, as he surprised everyone with the premiere of it during their live TRS panel. It's pretty damn cool, I highly suggest watching it (full screen if you can), check it out.
