An American Werewolf in London Poster

As we all know, Fantastic Fest is well underway down in Austin, TX. One of the highlight events is a special screening of An American Werewolf in London, with special effects icon Rick Baker, who is also receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award, there for a Q&A (watch it here). Along with the screening, they're selling an exclusive Olly Moss designed American Werewolf in London poster, which we haven't seen until now. Movies.com got the debut on the poster, which comes with a variant as well, likely a different color but we haven't seen it. It's pretty awesome, especially if you're a fan of Olly Moss or these stylish Mondo posters.

Fantastic Fest Audio Reviews: Danish 'Clown' & French Horror 'Livid'

Maury & Bustillo's Livid

Hey everyone! Tim from The Golden Briefcase back for Day 2 updates from Fantastic Fest 2011! Among today’s films we had the distinct pleasure of checking out two, one of which was a very pleasant surprise. We saw Clown (aka Klovn: The Movie), a comedy from Denmark starring stand-up comedians Frank Hvam and Casper Christensen that put awkward situations to the extreme and brought some of the best laughs I've had. We also got to see the follow-up film from the directors of French horror Inside, Julien Maury & Alexandre Bustillo, titled Livid (aka Livide). The film ended up being quite divisive with many viewers.

Watch: First Trailer for Donald Sutherland's 'Man on the Train' Remake

Man on the Train Trailer

Another day, another remake. Never even heard of the original? Neither have I. Man on the Train is an English-language remake of Patrice Leconte's 2002 French film also titled Man on the Train. However, the appealing aspects of this are that it stars not only Donald Sutherland as a "retired poetry professor", but also Larry Mullen Jr., better known as U2's drummer, making his feature acting debut. Mullen plays a thief whose plans get thrown off track (no pun intended) when he meets Sutherland in a small town where he's looking to knock off a bank. It doesn't look terrible, but not that great either, but give it a shot anyway.

Disney Gets 'The Lone Ranger' with Johnny Depp Back on the Saddle

The Lone Ranger

After abruptly lassoing The Lone Ranger last month due to an overly inflated budget, Disney is aiming to start working again on the Jerry Bruckheimer-produced, Gore Verbinski-directed film starring Armie Hammer as the titular masked hero and Johnny Depp as his sidekick, Tonto. With a planned release date of December 21st, 2012, the studio is looking to start shooting in early 2012, giving them just under a year to complete the film. But with a nearly $250 million plus budget and action set pieces like "the biggest train sequence in film history," how will the filmmakers be able to scale things back to satisfy the studio?

Fantastic Fest Audio Reviews: 'Sleepless Night' & 'Human Centipede 2'

Sleepless Night

Hey it's Tim from The Golden Briefcase, here to drop off the first few audio reviews from Fantastic Fest 2011 in Austin, TX. The fest is well underway and Jeremy and myself are already hitting the festival with guns blazing. Two of the films we were looking forward to were Frédéric Jardin's French thriller Sleepless Night and Tom Six's controversial sequel The Human Centipede 2 (Full Sequence), the latter being the subject of Jeremy's morbid curiosity. The opening night, Thursday, showed both of these flicks and we were eager to give everyone at home a taste of what we thought! Listen to quick audio reviews with guests.

Check This Out: Sleek New Poster for Johnny Depp's 'The Rum Diary'

The Rum Diary Poster

Absolutely nothing in moderation. We've seen a few new posters debuting recently for Bruce Robinson's The Rum Diary, a new Hunter S. Thompson adaptation starring Johnny Depp, but none of them have been that good yet - until this one. The last one just featured Depp's face and nothing else, in this new poster (via Apple), we get a good look at the mayhem he wakes up to one morning in Puerto Rico. Its definitely got a bit of a Hangover tinge, but I really like it, I love the oddity of everything, from the fish to the gun to the bowling pins. Yea, this is going to be a fun time - watch the trailer. See it below and click to download in HD.

Michelle Rodriguez Returning as Rain for 'Resident Evil: Retribution'

Michelle Rodriguez

Back in August it was confirmed that director Paul W.S. Anderson would again be working with his wife and frequent collaborator Milla Jovovich for Resident Evil: Retribution, yet another sequel in the video game franchise. At the time it was said Jill Valentine would be brought back in some capacity, and despite previous reports, Sienna Guillory will be reprising the role. Now Bloody Disgusting has word on another returning character with Michelle Rodriguez coming back as Rain Ocampo. Fans will remember that the character met her end after being turned into a zombie and subsequently killed, so what's the deal?

Fantastic Fest Review: Tom Six's 'Human Centipede 2 (Full Sequence)'

The Human Centipede 2 (Full Sequence) Review

This is going to be a truncated review for The Human Centipede 2 (Full Sequence) to kick off our Fantastic Fest coverage. It's not because there's nothing that can be said about the follow-up to one of the more talked about horror films of recent memory. It's because this sequel neither needs nor deserves 1000 words analyzing what it is, what it has to say, and how it's all executed. Tom Six, the Dutch returning writer/director, didn't feel like he shocked moviegoers enough with the 2009 film. The idea of a mad scientist surgically connecting three people ass-to-mouth-to-ass-to-mouth apparently didn't go far enough.

Being Elmo: A Puppeteer's Journey

With this wonderful doc finally slated for a rolling theatrical release starting in October and moving through December, we finally have the trailer for Being Elmo: A Puppeteer's Journey, a charming documentary which brought warmth to many hearts in the winter cold of the Sundance Film Festival back in January. The chronicle of Kevin Clash, the puppeteer behind beloved "Sesame Street" character Elmo, went on to win a Special Jury Prize at Sundance, and both myself and our friends at The Film Stage (quoted in the trailer) absolutely loved every minute of this heart-warming story. It's a must watch! Watch the trailer below.

Paul Bettany / Brian Cox
